The USA TODAY bestseller—based on the Star Trek TV series—“highly recommended, for any fan of the show…the heart, soul, and mind of Picard” (SciFiPulse).

“Fifteen years ago…you led us out of the darkness. You commanded the greatest rescue armada in history. Then...the unimaginable. What did that cost you? Your faith. Your faith in us. Your faith in yourself. Tell us, why did you leave Starfleet, Admiral?”

Every end has a beginning…and this electrifying novel details the events leading into the new Star Trek TV series, introducing you to brand-new characters featured in the life of Jean-Luc Picard—widely considered to be one of the most popular and recognizable characters in all of science fiction.

I listened to this in tandem with the tv series. It is a well structured companion to the show, fleshing out the story and the people. Very little spoils the other, though when it does, it is sadly inevitable given the content of the overarching story. Robert Perkoff was wonderful to listen to. His Picard impersonation was almost perfect and he vocally capture atmosphere well. The story itself was compelling and frustrating for all the right reasons.

Beautiful accompaniment

I loved this story, and I am enjoying watching how the TV series Star Trek Picard unfolds out of the goings-on told here.

I am happy they are linking the books in to the TV shows.

This explains a lot about the run up to the Picard TV series.

The series starts with the androids running amok and killing all on the mars shipyards. this explains how them robots came into existence and introduces us to the characters.

A great listen for any Picard fans.

I enjoyed this, but must admit thought it dragged on bit near the end. Good narrative and great tie in to the TV series. I would recommend.
