About this listen

Betrayed by his guild... Left for dead...
He'll become stronger than they ever imagined.

Ever since Arwin was summoned as a child, all he has known is war. And now, to claim the demon queen's life and end the war, he has to sacrifice himself. But, as he deals the final blow, the Hero of Mankind is betrayed.

Caught in a magical explosion thought to end him, Arwin awakens a month later to find that everyone has already moved on. His [Hero] class has changed to a unique blacksmith Class called [The Living Forge] that is empowered by consuming magical items, but some of his old passive [Titles] remain, giving him the power to forge his new future exactly the way he wants to.

Arwin isn't going to settle for anything less than completely surpassing the powers he wielded as the Hero.

After all, you are what you eat—and Arwin’s diet just became legendary.

Often lit-RPG writers get too excited and front load their adventures. This was paced nicely, my wife and I listened together and had a great time!

Excellent pacing and characters

Actus has a way of story telling that just grips you.
That is likely because of the characters he brings. This is a very character driven story with emotional highs and lows, while they are battles in it, it's the mundane everyday life aspect of the characters that kept me interested. The system is also new and refreshing.

A good choice of narrator as well in line delivery and enthusiasm in the dialogue.

Actus always delivers on interesting ideas.

The RPG systems and world building are done quite well. Kudos to the narrator for being able to go with it.

My only gripe was that the MC was from Earth but somehow lacks basic Earth knowledge with Smithing. But I guess that could be forgiven due to his circumstances.

Quite good
