Wow the singing!
First of all I love the audio for book! I loved the surprise singing and I loved how much more I loved the book listening to it a second time!
Book 2 just wow that ending. I loved this whole book getting to know the band better and I love them all. I hope they all get a book in end. Especially Hudson and Molly they need a happy ending. Poor Levi but I just love Rafe so much. He so right for Eva and their connection is so strong. I can’t wait to see how their story ends and what happens to the Band. I hope Levi sorts himself out and start being a big brother to Rafe. Loved the dynamic of country and Rock!

This series is going from strength to strength.
I liked the first book in this series. but I loved Rise: The Interlude which sees Eva going on tour with Black Hearts Still Beat in order to remove the financial situation that her parents are in due to her cancer treatment.
This means that She has to see Rafe while trying to recover from the heartbreak that he caused. There is an element of will they won't they which is even more confused by Levi. Rafe's brothers growing bond with Eva, and the delicate balance that everyone walks to try and keep Levi stable.
We get to see different sides of the band and get to know some new characters that enrich the story.
The narration by Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson, was outstanding that I cannot fault and the singing was a perfect addition to the story.
The incredible writing and the fantastic narration really made for a wonderful listening experience.

My Poor Heart
My poor heart can't take anymore and there is more to this story. Eva and Rafe are fantastic characters. Levi deserves his own story, but I don't think I'm emotionally equipped just yet for either. Sarah and Michael are impeccable.

Great continuation
Eva and Rafe story continues here, and I loved it, even though this is not the end of their journey. They really didn't had it easy, they kept fighting the chemistry between them for reasons they thought were for the best, but of course the pull is stronger and they cannot fight it anymore.
I really hurt for Levi, he's a really complex character with deep issues and I hope one day he gets his HEA.
Cannot wait for the next book because I need to know how everything is going to work out for Eva, Rafe, Levi and the band.
The narration was perfect, both Sarah Puckett and Michel Norman did a great job performing this book.

Just love these characters!
Wow. Just. Crikey I live these characters so much. This book has taken me through all the emotions and I really feel for the characters. They make me want to hug them and make it all better. I've loved watching them, what they're getting up to and how they're coping with the situations. Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett do a fabulous job with the narration, really adding nuance to the story. I need to know what happens next!!!

Such a beautiful story ...
... and I haven't even listen to book 1 (so obviously works as a stand alone)
This story is so sweet and tortured L.A Cotton certainly writes a gripping, action packed bitter sweet romance. Brought to life by Sarah Puckett and Micheal Norman Johnsons narration, both awesome and work so well together!

Rafe and Eva
Rafe thought he was making the right decision when he ended his relationship with Eva but now that she is coming on tour with them things are about to get very complicated.
Eva may be nervous and feeling out of her depth when it comes to performing on stage, but those feelings don’t compare to the uncertainty she feels towards the two brothers. One brother wants nothing to do with her while the other brother is doing his best to become close to her. Is there any way for this to end other than in disaster?
Rafe and Eva’s journey is filled with so much emotion and angst. We learn so much about all the characters and their motivations which leaves us wondering what the future holds for the band. I received a complimentary copy of the audiobook and thought the narrators did a great job of bringing the story to life. 🎧 Audiobook Obsession

Amazing Rockstar Romance Series
Rise: The Interlude by LA Cotton is a rockstar romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson. This is the second installment in the Black Hearts Still Beat series.
All I can say is Wow! This is an amazing series and I cannot wait until Rule: The Finale is released on May 14, 2020. Lianne is an amazing write and just pulls you into the story and I cannot wait to see how everything plays out
Sarah and Michael did an amazing job on the narration. They really brought the story to life. I absolutely love the original music performance throughout the book.
I would highly recommend this series if you love Rockstar Romances.

Eva!!!!!
Eva has been given an opportunity that will change her life. She's been invited to go on tour with one of the most popular rock bands. The record label is convinced that her presence will improve the evergrowing horrible reputation of the band. If that wasn't overwhelming enough, she finds herself caught in between the attentions of two brothers. One of whom has captured her heart despite her hesitations. The other who she feels a protective nature for that she would do anything to help him get better.
I enjoyed this book quite a lot. Even if it was a little cringy at times. Maybe even predictable at times. Those aren't complaints. Not all books are meant to be smooth and full of surprises. Some of them are supposed to be straightforward and frustrating. I hope this is making sense. There were times I would have probably smacked the characters if I was in the story. They were being so angsty and frustrating! Especially Eva and Rafe. They should have taken like five seconds to listen to the advice of those around them! Wouldn't make them normal characters though.
This book was narrated by both Michael Norman Johnson and Sarah Puckett. Sarah Puckett is one of my favorite narrators of all time. I just can't even begin to explain how much I love her narrations. It's been a while since I've listened to a book narrated by her. This is the first book I've listened to by Mikael Norman Johnson. I believe I saw him talking on a live chat on Facebook a long time ago. I'm not sure. It was a nice talk. I felt like he would be a great narrator. I was not wrong. I will definitely be picking up other books narrated by him.
This book was fun and full of life. I feel like there should have been more to it, but it was enjoyable all the same. Both narrators actually sang during the singing parts! It was AMAZING! It gave the audiobook a very authentic flair. Any book read is like you're a part of the story. However, when narrators do things like this it just amplifies that feeling. When they let their emotions come through in the narration, it enhances it too. I read and loved the first book of this and I can't wait to read the last book!

Rise
A perfect beginning that starts pretty close to where the first ends and keeps going non stop until the end. The progression of the friendships and more with the band and “country” grows slowly and yet their bond is so tight towards the end. I’m glad we have a semi happy ending with this book but I really need the next to know what happens. The narration is done really well.

great series
Eva is excited, nervous, and anxious before she starts touring with The Black Hearts. Will the dynamic of the band change? Will the fans love her or hate her? Where does that leave her and Rafe? How will they handle being together so much. Oh this story is so emotional with sexual tension,
Oh and the songs and singing in the audible version was great! I can't wait for the next book!
Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson are outstanding narrators. They did a fantastic performance, telling the story with such emotion. They bring the angst, raw emotion and personality to each character.

Great rockstar romance
Narrated by Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson, the emotional and angsty continuation of Eva and Rafe's journey unfolds in this rockstar romance by the bestselling author of The Rixon Raiders series. Embarking on tour with Black Hearts Still Beat at the age of eighteen, Eva Walker anticipated complications, but she never foresaw being caught between two brothers. One has a history with her but chose to walk away, while the other relies on her without providing clear reasons. As the inevitable truth looms, the lives of Country's newest sweetheart and the black-hearted boys of Rock are on the brink of irreversible change. Experience the next chapter in Eva and Rafe's story with Rise: The Interlude, the second installment of this gripping tale. Stay tuned for the upcoming conclusion in Rule: The Finale!

I can’t remember when I’ve enjoyed a book so much
The song interludes are amazing. I love it and the love story is great although the secrets they keep from each other don’t seem like they deserve the reaction they get. I only wish this could have been a ménage type thing between her and the brothers.

A Rose Between Two Thorns
Rockstar meets Country
Rise is the continuation of Eva and Rafe’s journey. Eva is asked to join Black Hearts Still Beat’s tour. Rafe acts like he isn’t affected and Levi is loving it. Eva didn’t expect to find herself in the middle of these two brothers. What’s going to happen when she picks one???
The emotions in the series are killing me! Not really, but seriously, this is one of my favorite rockstar series right now. I can’t wait for the next one!!
Sarah & Michael are so perfect for this series! Their voices are just like I would imagine they would be!!

Amazing second installment!
This is the second installment in the Black Hearts Still Beat Series, a Rock Star Romance. Eva's story continues where the first book left off. I loved to follow Eva, Rafe, Levi, and the band on their journey. I love Eva. She is a strong survivor, and a lovely young woman. The two brothers, Rafe and Levi, are both intriguing. This story is emotional, fun, and beautiful. I enjoyed it even more than the first book. The characters are amazing, and the storyline is intriguing and captivating. Sara Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson did a great job with the narration. I loved to listen to the songs along the story! I can't wait to listen to the third and last installment in this amazing Series: Rule: The Final. #AudiobookObsession

Sexual tension, excitement and a lot of fun! Didn’t think it was possible but this is better then the first. Eva and Rafe has such an amazing thing going on- once he got over himself and Eva and Levi are so touching. Can’t wait for the next book!

Black Hearts Still Beat
Rise: The Interlude (Black Hearts Still Beat # 2) continues where book one left off in this Country meets Rock. The last few chapters blew me away. The ending is epic and I can't wait for the final book. Brimming with angst, secrets unveiled in tiers, wonderful characters that are compelling with complex personalities. Absolutely loved this audiobook and series. Looking forward to listening to the final book in the series.
Narrators Sarah Puckett, Michael Norman Johnson, absolutely loved the singing portion of the narration by both Sarah and Michael. Sarah Puckett is my favorite female narrator and she was the perfect choice to portray Eva. Her inflection was smooth and flawless.. Michael Norman Johnson is a new narrator for me. I felt that his inflection didn't fit the character Rafe that well. However, his expression did work well. He expressed all the right sentiments in the right places. Overall, I loved the story and the narration.
A highly passionate listen, definitely looking forward to listening to more.
