A well-loved story which barely needs review. Most people have ether read it or seen an adaptation (most of which are excellent) so no doubt your opinion on the work itself is decided. But the efforts of Emma Messenger on the narration shouldn't go unacknowledged; she makes light work of difficult reading material and her characters are brilliantly read and conducive to utter absorption.

Good story and well read as far as I am concerned. My issue is with missing words. Not just unspoken but edited out. Mainly the regiment names and some town names. I do not understand the reason behind this.

This is a classic tale, witty, very human, very romantic, and a favourite of mine. It was a bargain price! I feared some of the reviews might indicate why, but I didn't find Mrs Bennet unbearably voiced at all, in either volume or tone, and I listened exclusively on headphones. Maybe this is an issue that has been corrected somehow? The other issue mentioned a lot were the missing words. In the books, Jane refers to some of the regiments as the -shire militia or whatever, and the narrator is only relaying this as written. I didn't find it odd or intrusive, and it's only very occasional. All in all, this is a brilliant classic, well read, and an utter bargain to boot!

It's classic and easy going.

A fair a job as anyone could do I suppose

I listening for a bout 6 hours in one go so I guess so.
