Summary
Lorne Turner needs a break, so when he's offered the job of security guard and handyman at an old rectory in the Lyn Valley he takes it.
He thought he'd gain a little space and perspective. A little quiet from the noise in his head, from his demons, from his beast. Sadly, The Rectory doesn't provide the haven he needs.
As the rain falls, waters rise, and old graves move.
The grave of a witch, who cursed the village. The grave of a soldier, who tried to escape the Hanging Judge after the Monmouth Rebellion. The grave of a priest, broken by love and grief.
When the whispering of Exmoor’s dead turns into a scream, Lorne has to act.
The original families of Scob must face their debt.
Lorne, Ella, Willow, and Heather need to find a way to balance the scales before more lives are lost.
Can they survive the haunting misery of the old bones? Can they save each other from the beckoning darkness?
And the rain. Always the rain.

Joe talon books are amazing
These books are a must read or listen. The narrator is good. I’m not a fan of audio books but Edmund has changed my mind on these ones.

Was a good listen
I received this book for free to give a honest review.
I have read all the books in the series so far and enjoyed them all. This is the first one I have listened to.
The character building was very good learning about Lorne's past and his struggle with life and also his worries about his future.
I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Well done Joe Talon

So much for a quiet getaway!
This second book in the series can be read as standalone. It's a tale with a spooky atmospheric feel to it, which is perfect for a supernatural thriller mystery.
The characters and plot are well-written and developed. I had the benefit of the prologue, but enjoyed following Along with Lorne and his companions as they puzzled out the clues to what caused the haunting and the resolution.
This was the first story I'd heard Edmund Bloxam narrate. His tone and accent weren't typically what I hear from male narrators in most audiobooks, and I wondered if I'd be distracted the whole time, but I admit, he drew me right into the story and personified Lorne perfectly.

So much rain. . .and bones popping up everywhere!
Book two has arrived, and we find Lorne and his friends in a new setting, though certainly not a brighter setting. In addition to the dual-battle set up in his life, he now has to face the rain. . . lots of rain, and then bones popping up all over the place. Lots of suspense and angst. The narrator continues to do a good job of making it again easier to listen than read.

Excellent addition to the series!
I recently got an offer for a review copy of the audiobook version for Money for Old Bones from StoryOrigin. This is the second in Joe Talon’s Lorne turner supernatural thriller series. This second offering takes the series to a new level, while Counting Crows was very good, Money for Old Bones was an excellent supernatural thriller with a couple of unexpected twists. Joe Talon does an excellent job developing the characters, including the new ones introduced in this book. I’m looking forward to listening to the next episode in this series. Edmund Bloxam does an excellent job bringing the characters and story to life.

Haunting Adventure
I enjoyed this book a lot. Joe Talon's creative supernatural thriller captivated me. I liked the characters and their complexities. The atmosphere was creepy and had me looking over my shoulder a couple of times. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. Edmund Bloxam's narration was great. I was given a free copy of the audiobook and I have voluntarily posted this review.
