About this listen
In New York a young girl is brutally raped and murdered. Detective Callum Doyle has visited the distraught family. Now he wants justice.
Doyle is convinced he knows who the killer is; the problem is he can't prove it. And the more he pushes his prime suspect, the more he learns that the man is capable of pushing back in ways more devious and twisted than Doyle could ever have imagined.

Doyle is a disappointing detective

There is no suspense, and there is a turgid theme that becomes boring.
Doyle in this book seems to have had some sort of metamorphosis and his character seems lessened, self indulgent, and VERY wearing.
The disappointment I personally have felt will not stop me reading David Jackson novels. He has a hypnotic almost poetic style that can engage and involve, it just didn't work for me this time.
Nick Landrow's narration is as always superb in bringing Doyle to life.
