Summary

Every girl has that one guy...that one guy who steals her heart and never gives it back.

We were all friends...until we weren’t.
We depended on each other...until we couldn’t.
We were in love...until we were ripped apart.
We moved on...even when we didn’t want to let go.
This is our love story.

Tough read...but so worth it!!

Thank you to Kimberly Helen for providing me with a free audiobook in return for an honest review.

When I read the blurb of this book I wasn't sure what to expect as it doesn't actually give too much of the story line away. But as I listened to this book I could understand why.
It's a lot better to blindly go into this book and take what happens as it comes rather than expecting it. I don't actually want to give too much of it away so will simply say we see through mainly Charlie's point of view, as she flips between her present life and memories with her two best friends, Joey and Jase.

There are some tough themes in this book; drug abuse, mental abuse, childhood bullying and rape. These would seem bad enough in the story if we hadn't found out that it's based on the writer's life. Which makes so many of the themes completely heart breaking.

The three main characters in this are absolutely fantastic and probably the most realistic that I've ever read. They all had great personalities and equally as many flaws.
Charlie is an amazingly strong heroine. She's been through some horrible ordeals but refuses to let that define her as a person. She hates the idea of being the damsel in distress and stands up for her best friends numerous times throughout the book.
Joey was so lovable from page one. He was the fun loving platonic guy friend who wasn't brave enough to stand up for himself at the start of the book, but grows to be as equally possessive and protective of Charlie as he gets older.
Jase is the sweet bad boy that romance readers dream about. He's from a fairly rough background which gives him a boisterous attitude and tough exterior. But he has so many sweet qualities that make him the perfect book boyfriend.

I don't want to talk about the story too much as I feel I could easily give a lot of it away which could ruin the experience. This is definitely a book that needs to grow on you as it's so full of raw emotion. I'd find myself smiling at adorable moments, gasping in shock and seething in anger. It is a whirlwind, but so worth a read.

Narrator Kimberly Helen does a good job of keeping the pace. She has great emotion in her voice ad a great understanding of the story.

I really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it to romance fans. But prepare for a tough read.

Really enjoyed this book

I've just finished this audiobook in 3 days as I couldn't turn it off. This book is filled with drama and romance and you go through it all along with Charlie, Jase and Joey. the Narrator did an amazing job (I'm guilty of judging an audiobook by the sound of the narrators voice but she was perfect for this book)
I'm so glad for how it all turned out in the end as I became completely invested in all the characters.
The authors note at the very end also made it that much more intense and emotional for me.
Would definitely recommend.
