No really about hr

I felt this was more the authors ramblings of growing up and although he points at each memory being a lesson its not helpful at all

Enjoyable book about the HR profession

Lots of nuts and bolts tips and anecdotes designed for HR professionals. I’m a business owner so this wasn’t exactly written for me but it was quite enjoyable and the author was very likable. Five star listen.

Disappointing

The writing and delivery of this book is disappointing. I would describe it more as a book on his complaints and inappropriate actions than an HR book. Examples are that he rambles on about inaccurate complaints about an industry he claims to love and the fact that he has a real sword in his office at work. Any true HR professional would never condone a weapon at work, certainly not the HR lead of a company. Please don’t read this if you care about Human Resources.

Great story, stuffy narrator

This was the book I needed to recharge my mindset within HR. We can feel alone sometimes and often question why we do what we do and this book is exactly the reasons.

The narrator sounded stuffy the entire book which was distracting personally. There were some things that would have crossed over better with reading the physical book.

Great read!

I definitely enjoyed this book. As a young HR Profesaional this book waa filled with great valuable insights. Steve not only shared best practises that would definite assist in your HR journey but also mistakes made which everyone can use as a learning lesson. I will definitely use this book as a go to on those days when things are rough. Thanks Steve for being intentional.

Great insight.

This book was a great read. I think it’s suitable for those just coming into HR and those who have been in HR for a long time reconsidering their position in the field. I am one who chose HR on purpose and this book did a great job at reminding me why.
