Summary

Bloomsbury presents Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas, read by Elizabeth Evans.

Never trust an assassin.

Celaena’s story continues in this second book in the #1 bestselling Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas.

Celaena Sardothien won a brutal contest to become the King’s Champion. But she is far from loyal to the crown. Though she goes to great lengths to hide her secret, her deadly charade becomes more difficult when she realizes she is not the only one seeking justice. Her search for answers ensnares those closest to her, and no one is safe from suspicion—not the Crown Prince Dorian; not Chaol, the Captain of the Guard; not even her best friend, Nehemia, a princess with a rebel heart.

Then, one terrible night, the secrets they have all been keeping lead to an unspeakable tragedy. As Celaena’s world shatters, she will be forced to decide once and for all where her true loyalties lie...and what she is willing to fight for.

The second book in the #1 New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series returns listeners to a land destroyed by liars, where one woman’s truth is the only thing that can save them all.

Good but not amazing

Good easy listen, it's certainly not up to Brandon Sanderson standards but worth a listen. The romance goes on a bit when all you want is for the story to continue. Good narrator.

Excellent and gripping

Truly excellent- just as good as book 1. Fast paced and gripping. Full of surprises. I can't wait to download the next one. Narration was faultless too. Best books I've read/listened to in a long time

Amazing

Really enjoyed this book, more than the last one. I know we are still introducing lots of new characters and storylines but sometimes that makes it a bit hard to digest and I find myself reading some chapters twice to make I’ve got it all. Storyline was great and I really like the main characters

Superb!

This book got me good, and I am here for it! The performance was wonderfully spot on; every character on the paper came alive in its own special voice! Superb!

pretty good entertainment.

I like the story and the concept .
The biggest drawback is the main characters bouncing between beeing helpless like a damsel in distress to invincible badass .

More what I had been expecting

I enjoyed the first book, but one expects a book about an assassin to have assassinations in it and in the first book I was somewhat disappointed.

However, this book does not disappoint. We finally get the blood hit we had been looking for in the first book, and it was well worth the wait.

SPOILER ALERT!: the only thing I would change is that I think Celena should have been far more brutal with how she killed Archer. We know she basically tortured the assassin who killed Nehemia, and it seems like her rage would bring her to be equally brutal with Archer, who masterminded it.

Overall I can’t fault it, 10/10.

These books keep getting better!

I seem to be enjoying each book a little more than the last and I am definitely preferring them to the acotar series.
