What did you like most about The Girlfriend?

I got totally immersed in the storyline and resented interruptions. Found all the characters believable, some were annoying and I learnt that great wealth doesn't always bring great happiness.

What did you like best about this story?

The way it sucked me in and kept me wanting more and to know more and to find out if girlfriend Cherry was all that she seemed to be.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The end. It tied up the loose ends nicely.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when Cherry bought two puppies from a pet shop. I won't say why she bought them as it would spoil the storyline for anyone who has yet to read this book, but describing those two puppies and their sad life in the pet shop and their eagerness to please a prospective buyer really tugged at the heart strings.

Any additional comments?

Much as I liked the narration, which really brought the story to life, I found myself wondering if the narrator was suffering from sinus problems. She sounded as though she needed a Vicks inhaler.

Overall an enjoyable listen, deffinitely kept me turning the page (as it were), however I felt the author missed so many tricks and each 'reveal' was a bit like...what?? as she opted for a complete diffusion and confusingly watered down squib at each turn.
Also narrator although generally great, definitely needed to take time out to clear that 'bobby nuff nuff' head cold before continuing..

I enjoyed this book with all its twists and turns. However, as it neared the end, it became more and more bizarre and the ending itself rather spoilt it for me. I won't say why as this would reveal too much for other readers!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, from the start i was hooked and couldn’t stop listening! I could relate to the story in certain ways too! Really really loved every single bit of this and I really don’t understand ANY negative reviews?! They must be the most difficult people to please! As for the narrator having a blocked nose, yes a few chapters her nose sounded a little blocked, but I thought… poor woman has the cold and she obviously had put hours of work already into doing the book and was still trying her best to keep going through her cold! So I think well done to her for not giving up and to keep going! She was utterly AMAZING!! I will be looking for more books she has read and also by this author for sure💯 they both made this fabulous story!!! It has sooo many twists! Loved it! I love animals so yes I didn’t like that bit and was prepared as i had read another review about it. All i had to do was skip forward 90 seconds and it was over! No problem!!! I certainly wouldn’t fault the book because of it! Its fiction after all! Thank you to this author for an AMAZING book, a HUGE well done to the narrator 👏🏽💯 and as always….. thank you to audible for ANOTHER wonderful book! 👏🏽❤️xxxx

Enjoyed the story but, it was spoilt by the narrator. Halfway into the story the narrator sounded as if she was pinching her nose. Obviously had developed a head cold but it was very off putting

I purchased this accidentally & by god I'm so glad I did. I was absolutely riveted the whole way through.
the ending was absolutely perfect (I had been worried as I'd listened to the Boyfriend before & felt the end was a bit of a let down.)
