I have read lots of KL Slater books and was enjoying this. Then the ending happened out of the blue. It felt very rushed so I was a little disappointed.

Absolutely amazing. The twists are incredible and haunting. I really hope there will be a sequel to this!

This is listenable throughout but also laughable in places. For example, the denouement is rather comical as it is perfunctory and is not entirely consistent with what went before. It is a good enough listen but not a particularly good listen. I found Slater's Missing a much better book.

A better book than its ending

This is an easy read/listen which is narrated very well, but I was a bit disappointed with it. It takes a while to build up, the characters are all pretty miserable, then everything happens at once. The last twenty minutes or so throws in one twist too many making it feel ridiculous rather than shocking. Sorry. Like I say, an easy listen but don't set expectations too high for a gripping psychological thriller.

Good narration, average story

This is a gripping story, covering lots of sensitive and serious topics. I was desperate to find out what was going on and cared about the family. the narration was superb, very easy to listen to and suited the characters.

The reason it wasn't five star for me was I found the main character especially, incredibly frustrating, and I'm not convinced someone would act that way in all instances. I also felt some things were chucked in there that didn't really add to the story.

That being said, it was a good story, though truly shocking!
