Summary

Some things just wont stay buried.

The number one Sunday Times best-selling author returns with the much anticipated new Logan McRae thriller.

What drives someone to murder?

Logan McRae's personal history is hardly squeaky clean, but now that he works for Professional Standards he's policing his fellow officers.

When Detective Inspector Bell turns up dead in the drivers seat of a crashed car, it's a shock to everyone. Because Bell died two years ago. They buried him. Or they thought they did.

As an investigation is launched into Bell's stabbing, Logan digs into his past. Where has he been all this time? Why did he disappear? And what's so important that he felt the need to come back from the dead?

But the deeper Logan digs, the more bones he uncovers - and there are people out there who will kill to keep those skeletons buried. If Logan can't stop them, DI Bell won't be the only one to die.

Done it again

Stuart has done it again... love his characters & how they subtly change ( as we all do) as they get older Not always wiser though.
The narration is as always excellent , Steve Worsley brings the characters to life. Fab voice .
I’m always disappointed when the book ends as I then have to look for another to fill the gap till the next exciting case .

The best audio book to date, upsetting in places. Excellent narration too. Recommend. Looking forward to next book.

Better and better

MacBride does it again. Roberta gets worse, the constables get better and the long suffering Logan plods on with believable determination. the humour is great. Despite the subject matterMacBride balances it all like spinning plates, with expert timing and consummate ease.

Fantastic writing as always Stuart!!

You make me laugh and cringe at the same time and your characterisations are wonderful. I have never loved any other author as much as you and I am 70 years old and have been reading since the age of 4.
MORE MORE MORE Pleeeeeeeeease!!!!

Unbelievable. I can’t cope!

Firstly let me say that I have listened to this entire series over a relatively short period and I think I am now more attached to the characters to I am to most real life people. Do not start here... this series needs to be read in order.

Blood Road was by far the most uncomfortable listen. The subject matter is horrendous. Yet I listened to it over two days because I needed to find out what would happen. Such a good story! Totally gripping and probably the best of the bunch.

Steve Worsley is a fantastic narrator. McBride is an incredible author. If you haven’t met Logan McRae and Roberta Steel yet, I’m genuinely jealous!
