About this listen

The second crime thriller in the No.1 bestselling Logan McRae series from Stuart MacBride.

Even the darkest crimes will come to light…

‘Stuart MacBride is a damned fine writer’ Peter James

Crime never sleeps.

Down by the docks, in the dead of night, a woman is hunted down and killed. For DS Logan McRae, it’s just the beginning of another nightmare.

Neither does this killer.

As the day dawns and the body count rises, Logan realises that this isn’t just an isolated murder. It’s far more disturbing than that.
A killer is on the loose and wreaking havoc – and Logan is running out of time to stop them.

And the clock is ticking . . .

Critic reviews

‘DYING LIGHT is a wonderfully gripping and grim second outing for Logan McRae … Fierce, unflinching and shot through with the blackest of humour; this is crime fiction of the highest order’ Mark Billingham

Sometimes with series of books I find the first one excellent so really look forward to reading the next one and it ends up being a bit of a disappointment, but not this one, certainly not!! Some more than gory bits if you don’t like that sort of thing, and a couple of times I could’ve slapped one or two of the protagonists because their behaviour seems way out of line, but as a whole I liked most of the police officers and some really nice hissy villains. And some quite funny bits.

A darn good “read” and looking forward to number 3!!

Really good second novel

A good few twists, hard to predict. Looking forward to reading more from Stuart MacBride.

A good read

Without doubt, Stuart McBride is an excellent author, and portrays life in Aberdeen, or at least the less salubrious side of it, in an extremely entertaining way (though whether this does much for potential tourism, particularly when combined with the apparent more or less constant appalling weather, I'm not so sure!). Though a little complex, with lots of characters which aren't always easy to keep track of, the story was great, and told in an amusing and very entertaining way by the narrator, Steve Worsley, which given the sometimes gruesome subject, is a marvel. We look forward to continuing to 'mine' this extensive seam of excellent books!

Really enjoyed this - good atmosphere and really evokes the feeling of Aberdeen. A great read.

Real, fallible characters Great dialog.

Mystery, action, tension.

You just expect everything to go wrong with every decision.. or this time is the right one?
