Summary

In a spellbinding new Argeneau novel from New York Times best-selling author Lynsay Sands, a dangerous rescue is just the beginning of red-hot adventure.

Ever since Domitian Argenis recognized Sarita as his life mate, he's been waiting for the perfect moment to claim her. Those fantasies did not include him being chained to a table in a secret lab or both of them being held hostage by a mad scientist. Somehow, they have to escape.

Sarita has seen some crazy things as a cop, but nothing to rival Domitian. A vampire? Seriously? But his healing ability, his incredible powers, and their mind-blowing physical connection - none of it should be possible, yet her body knows differently. Now, not only do they have to save each other, but other innocent lives are at stake. Failure is not an option, for Sarita intends that Domitian show her exactly what an eternity of pleasure feels like.

Brilliant story Awful narrator!!

I love all of Lynsey Sands books, especially the Argeneau series. Immortal unchained was fantastic, with a real twist on her normal stories. I loved it.

The only thing that let it down was Julian Durant, the Narrator. He was bloody awful, seriously. He really put a downer on the experience and enjoyment of the book. He "tries" to do the voice of Quinn a Scottish vampire and he sounded like an Irish Cockney!!!!!
These narrators are meant to be professionals and are paid accordingly so if they are taking on different accents for different characters, you expect them to sound like the country they are portraying. ( i hope that makes sense).

To be honest I was disgusted with Julian Durants performance, and it did take away some of the enjoyment of the book as I found my self concentrating on his voice and not the story, so would have to rewind some of the book. For this reason I have only given this book 4. Stars and that's a first for me with one of Lynsays books.
I just hope that he won't be used again for one of lynsays' books, as I am 100% positive i won't be listening to Mr Durant narrating any books in future.

Great story, strange accents from the narrator

Lynsay Sands has outdone herself with this book. It was a bit slow to start. I've listened to every one of the Argeneau novels and this was probably the most ingenious. Her original premise is great and this bookmahows her fantastic imagination. The island of hybrids, the Mengele-style doctor and the prisonsrs made for an excellent book.

The narration let thos book down though. Isarita's accent half the time sounded Irish. Quinn the Scottish guy sounded like a dodgy Dick Van Dyke cockney and I've no idea what was going on with Victor and Lucien who in all the other books are canadian and English sounding respectively.

Narrator

Its a shame the narrator sounds too old for this series. Spoils it as just sounds wrong.

I was looking forward to this but...

The beginning held promise but to describe someone who had been cut in half as 'awful' was unbelievable! Too much emphasis on lifemate sex when Domitian's friends were being experimented on and the main reason he was there was to save them. Not sure if I can cope with another if the story is going to be sidelined like that.

The narrator killed this book epic fail !

This is the worst audio performance I’ve heard till date. I’m a fan of Lynsay Sands work and have listened to all of the Argeneau series so far therefore I didn’t even think of listening to the sample before buying this audiobook. The narrator made it sound like I was listening to War of the World’s or Stoker’s Dracula rather than the witty sometimes funny story that Ms. Sands is known for. The voice and accent of the main characters though !! They all sounded like some C grade Spaghetti western baddies from the 60s. Truly it was a nightmare to listen to the whole book. I only preserved because I am fan of the author and I want to finish the series. My suggestion is to avoid this narrator at all costs. I really really hope he doesn’t read any other books in this series. As I said EPIC FAIL.
