Summary

Does Jessica know what the truth is?
A stunning psychological debut with a shocking twist

When she arrives at work to discover every trace of the company she was working for has disappeared, Jessica’s life spirals into freefall.

Her romance with Michael, a celebrated criminologist is already in trouble. He is sick of the unpredictable behaviour caused by her ADHD and is convinced she is a fantasist. When his flat is burgled and precious belongings that remind him of his dead wife are stolen, he blames her.

Forced to prove her innocence, Jessica sets out to unravel the events of the last few months. But when she stumbles on a dead body, the lies, deceptions and betrayals that have dogged her whole life come back to haunt her.

Can anybody trust her?

Don't Trust Me

Just either read or listen to this book! Personally narration was absolutely amazing. Maybe some might judge it as far fetched, but surely that's the beauty of fiction/escapism. Brilliant concept with twists and turns, and good conclusion at the end.

Ruined by a quiet narrator

The volume levels are all off with this book. The narrator that voices Emma speaks far too quietly and has a feathery quality, that sometimes dips down/trails off to almost inaudible levels. The editing too is poor for the Emma parts, long silent pauses at the end of paragraphs. Overall an extremely frustrating listen, so much so I began to hate it when the POV switched to Emma. This should not have passed the quality check on ACX.

got unxpectedly good after a (long) while

a bit confusing at first. main character was unusual but at times a little annoying. the female voiceover's portrayal of men was pretty unattractive, good effort but they sounded like such losers hahah

Good twists and turns, enjoyable.

I enjoyed this book but it wasn't quite in the same league as others in the genre that I've enjoyed.

Predictable and weak

i thought this was going to be good given the first few chapters but it was clutching at straws for a decent story.
