Summary
Nail-bitingly modern domestic noir.
A tense, Hitchcockian psychological thriller.
Louise Voss returns with her darkest, most chilling novel yet....
Lynn Naismith gave up the job she loved when she married Ed, the love of her life, but it was worth it for the happy years they enjoyed together. Now, 10 years on, Ed has been diagnosed with early onset dementia, and things start to happen - things more sinister than missing keys and lost words. As some memories are forgotten, others, long buried, begin to surface...and Lynn’s perfect world begins to crumble. But is it Ed’s mind playing tricks, or hers....?

Predictable and boring
Kept waiting for a twist or even a gentle surprise but was agonisingly predictable right through the book.

A bit ‘far-fetched’!!
Is the main character really so gormless and damned stupid?
Really??
Such an obvious ending.
Wouldn’t really recommend as waste of credit!

Wow, full of twists & turns
I enjoyed this book, I did get a bit confused at the end, however this is a very well written cleverly put together story.
Very well done to both Author & Narrator.

Not the best
Ok. Bit disappointing. Passed the time but characters lacked depth or charm and dialogue quite silly. I did finish it so not awful but was quite predictable and unremarkable.

Cliched and preposterous
This novel had an intriguing set up, but fell into a contrived, cliched mess from about half way. The characters were 2-dimensional and unreal, while the plot was so contrived it started to feel like a bad Scooby Doo episode. It felt like the author ran out of steam half way through so threw the kitchen sink at the novel, throwing in everything she had and every plot point she could think of (including a research trip to Mustique?) without thinking about what the novel should be about. I know this is basically a crime chick lit, but really. What the author didn't do is to flesh out the protagonist, her motivation or her journey. The writing just became more cliched, preposterous and soulless as the novel went on. Very disappointing.

Predictable but great narration
As the previous reviewer noted the story was quite predictable but an original story nonetheless and still worth a listen.

A very tangled web!
I really enjoyed this dark domestic thriller full of secrets and lies. The story is perfectly paced, and the characters are well rounded and realistic. Having seen the damage that dementia can do first hand, I felt really sorry for both Ed and Lynne. I really connected with Lynne, though, who was a very likeable, realistic character. But what a tangled web Louise Voss weaves, and as the story progressed I didn't know what or who to believe. There are twists and shocks galore which lead to a fabulous finale..
The narration by Zara Ramm was perfect for the book

Really enjoyable! surprise plot twist at the end, I didn't want it to end and wish we'd know what happened a few years later
