The gripping psychological thriller from the author of Am I Guilty, The Perfect Couple and The Happy Family

When Mary receives a blank diary as a present, she thinks nothing of it. Until she opens the diary, and sees it’s not blank after all…

1st February MURDER JANE, BIRMINGHAM
1st March MURDER DAVID, CARDIFF
1st April MURDER MARY, CHELTENHAM

Is this a sick joke? But…it’s the end of January now. And a woman called Lisa was murdered in Oxford on 1st January.

Could there really be a killer out there, planning to commit a new murder each month? And is the Mary due to be killed on 1st April her?

The clock is ticking for Mary to uncover the truth, before she becomes the next victim on the killer’s list…

I loved this story. The narrator was fine in some ways but her accents were truly appalling. A police woman from Newcastle who’s described as having a soft Geordie accent given a Merseyside accent and many many more. Who on earth allows that to be published?? It’s as if she’s never come into contact with anyone from the UK. Someone needs to give her a map. She does a series of vague northern accents regardless of the description in the story because she clearly has no idea where the various characters are from. I have no idea how accurate her US accent is or whether that’s equally awful. Also she speaks so quickly. The pace is so fast that I had to rewind often and eventually set it at half pace. The alternative was to process about a quarter of the narration which isn’t acceptable for a crime drama. Another great book let down by sloppy narration. Its such a shame. It happens too often. Why aren’t there producers watching out for this??

Brilliant story but bizarre narration

Too many, unbeleveable twists and turns. Writing style more reminiscent of a romantic novel.

Over Complicated.

I really enjoyed this, I liked the performance and the story (at times it did get a bit long but could live with it) The ending was brilliant.

All in all glad I purchased it.

Interesting story

The story was great but the final chapters, 1st April, was very drawn out, I felt like it could have been more 'exciting'

Great story idea
