Call of Archaon: Age of Sigmar

Amongst all of the Stormhosts, none are more vaunted than the Hammers of Sigmar. Forged first upon the Anvil of the Apotheosis, their Warrior Chambers are exemplars of Sigmar's glory. In the shadow of the Nomad City, the mettle of the Stormbound is tested against the hordes of Khorne in the battle to sanctify the Crucible of Blood, a gateway to Chaos and madness. Within the ranks of the Stormcast Eternals, there is one who is greater than all others. He is the Celestant-Prime.

Athelwyrd, the last great bastion of Ghyran's sylvaneth, has fallen to the pestilent servants of the Plague God. At their head, the warlord Torglug the Despised will do anything to seize the ultimate prize his master so fervently desires: Alarielle, the Everqueen. Her defenders will not see her taken easily, though - Lord-Castellant Grymn and his chamber of Hallowed Knights have sworn themselves to her protection.

Plague and devastation ravage the Mortal Realms, but there is hope yet, for Sigmar's Stormcast Eternals are paragons of justice and retribution. In Ghyran and the lands of Rotwater Blight, Lord-Castellant Grymn fights on, not only to avenge the death of Lord-Celestant Gardus but also to find the Hidden Vale of Alarielle, the Radiant Queen and ruler of the sylvaneth. Only with her aid can the pestilence that ails the land be turned back.

Across the Mortal Realms, a storm rages. Sigmar announces his return as his Stormcast Eternals strike a vengeful blow against the hordes of Chaos. Lord-Celestant Vandus Hammerhand has claimed one of the Gates of Azyr and now makes for the dreaded Gate of Wrath in the fire-blackened Brimstone Peninsula of Aqshy, and a reckoning with the Chaos Lord Korghos Khul.

The war is over, and the Mortal Realms have all but fallen to Chaos.... Korghos Khul rampages across the fiery Realm of Aqshy, hunting down mortal kind to slaughter or subjugate to Khorne. His Goretide have crushed all resistance...until the storm. From the heavens hurtle paladins clad in gold. Sent by Sigmar, the Stormcast Eternals have come to liberate all the realms from the yoke of Chaos.

In the bleak, haunted underworld of Shyish, a vengeful Slayer seeks the Lord of Undeath. Gotrek Gurnisson returns, his oaths now ashes alongside the world-that-was, his fury undiminished. Branded with the Master Rune of Grimnir, the God that betrayed him, and joined by Maleneth Witchblade, a former Daughter of Khaine turned agent of the Order of Azyr, the hunt has taken them far and wide through the Realm of Death. Gotrek Gurnisson was the greatest monster slayer of the age, who met his doom at the End Times. After fleeing the authorities in the Imperial city of Altdorf, Felix Jaeger swears a drunken oath to dour dwarf Gotrek Gurnisson to record his death saga. In the cold light of day, Felix's worst fears are confirmed as he learns that Gotrek is a Trollslayer - a dwarf doomed to seek out a heroic death in battle to atone for an unknown personal disgrace. Their travels throw them into a string of extraordinary adventures as Felix tries to survive his companion's destiny.   

In the perilous jungles just north of the great city of Hammerhal Aqsha, Chaos reigns. There, a powerful Tzeentchian wizard grows in disciples and in might as his maledictions leach all that is good from the land. It is Neave Blacktalon, first of Sigmar’s Knights-Zephyros, who must vanquish this foe. Yet the huntress soon realises that even the glow of the Twin-Tailed City cannot protect her from the darkness. Blighted by terrible visions, she fears that her very spirit has been tainted. Blacktalon must choose whether to abandon her duty in the quest for a cure or face the fearsome judgment of the Sacrosanct chamber.

Neferata is besieged. To the east, the daemon prince Graunos gathers the legions of the Blood God, seeking to tear the Mortarch from her throne. To the south, Sigmar’s storm heralds the coming of the Anvils of the Heldenhammer, intent on pressing the God-King’s claim. All the while, an ancient enemy grows, hidden within Neferata’s lands. Never has her power seemed so fragile. But, within the dominion of bones, the Mortarch of Blood controls all, and even the champions of the Dark Gods will find themselves puppets in her schemes.
