Summary

Boomerangers [boo-muh-rang-ers] - noun, informal: an adult who moves back home to live with a parent after a period of independence.

Spencer

I love sex. I love the power, the intimacy, the euphoria it brings. Too bad I'm not having any . . . You'd think as New Orleans's most renowned sex therapist that I'd be swimming in single men. In a way, I am . . . except for the fact that one is in diapers and the other two are drowning in preteen hormones. As a single mother of three, my days are devoted to my clients and my kids, and my nights are spent with Fabio, my trusty vibrator. When my world begins to unravel, I have no choice but to move back home. And when my high school sweetheart comes waltzing back into my life, comedy and chaos ensue.

What can I say? I never said I could pick 'em, but you can bet your ass I know how to fix 'em.

Cooper

As soon as the ink dried on my divorce papers, I made myself a solemn vow: I was done with relationships. Moving home to take over my father's firm was the plan, until Spencer decided to return, along with three souvenirs from the life she's lived without me.

I've been in love with the girl next door for nearly all of my life; the rest was spent trying to forget her. I'd give almost anything for a second chance with her, but I have no time for distractions - especially the kind that involve diapers, bottles, and 18-year commitments.

The problem is, she's already got me by the balls . . . and I'm beginning to feel the noose tightening around my heart. Contains mature themes.

'Savage' and 'Pooper' made me LOL... on the train

This is my first book by Ms. Orgeron that I bought from one of the Audible sales but it sat in my library unread for a long while. Today however, I was looking for something light, funny, and short so I finally listened to this book. It definitely delivered. I took the commuter train home today and had the hardest time controlling myself from bursting into giggles.

Ms. Orgeron's characters Spencer and Cooper aka 'Pooper' were developed well. Unfortunately, the conflict was not that original as it is about a mother who is afraid to commit. Nonetheless, it was still enjoyable listen as portrayed by Jillian Macie (new narrator for me) and Eric Summerer. Loved, loved Savage or Kyle who brought the comedic relief to the story. Well done.

sweet second chance, single mom story

Spencer is a single mom, and sex therapist...who has lost her job. Now she needs to move back to her hometown home, with her 3 boys, and live with her mom. Cooper is recently divorced and has moved back home to take over his father's law firm...and he's living at home until he can get his act together. Neither Spencer nor Cooper expected to see each other after all of these years...see, the pair were hs sweethearts and had made many future plans that never came to be. Cooper is still attracted to Spencer but there is that pesky problem...she has 3 kids and he doesn't want anything to do with rugrats. But, as the pair rekindle their friendship, and move towards more, will there be a forever or will Cooper's dislike of kids stand in the way? I floved this story!! My fave character though, was the youngest boy who said the most hilarious things...and called Cooper...wait for it...POOPER!! This is one of those 're-listen when you need a pick me up'!

Good romcom.

I laughed so much listening to this book. Love the story, the characters were absolutely phenomenal. This author will be a one click author for me. P.S. I want a bestie like Gina.

While this book isn't my cup of tea, the book is good. Most women would love it.

🔸️🔸️ Disappointed 🔸️🔸️

I found this story pretty lame and just couldnt finish. What mother of 3 boys does the deed in the filthy bathroom of a dive bar with an old BF? The bad language of the 2 yr old seemed to be a central focus of the story, which wasnt all that amusing to me. Michael's narration was ok but I didn't care for the female narration.

Loved it

From start to finish I was absolutely invested in the story that Ms Orgeron wove. The narrators did a great job in bringing the story to life and I was thoroughly entertained not only by the story but their performance.

Well done

Blaming My Bookbabe

I laughed, I cried, I loved it! This second chance romance had a perfect hint of lovernnies that had me giggling with watery eyes at the trouble this couple brought on themselves for fighting the inevitable HEA we all wish for.

not only did I get a good laugh but it holds my new favorite hero Cooper or as the youngest character in this story blessed him as pooper or so it sounds like, had me swooning at the enormous heart the author could give. HIGHLY REC, very realistic characters and situations.

The diaper changing scene.

It has been a while since my kids were in diapers, but we've all dealt with epic blowouts. That scene alone had me laughing so hard that I started crying with big sobs...of laughter. I've never experienced anything like it before. It was a sweet story.

Just ok....

The pink banner on the summary page says that this story is sexy.... true single motherhood is not sexy and neither is this story, the book was okay though and kept me interested. Eric Michael Summerer is and amazing narrator!
