Summary

"You never have to be without me, Laney, never." He lied...my everything I ever knew, trusted, wanted...I am, in fact, without him. On my own and out of my shell, I learn new things about life, friendship and...myself. Like what you've always known may not be what you've always wanted.

Dane Kendrick awakened things within me that I never knew existed, unraveling and uncovering the real Laney Jo Walker. I'm a new adult...so is my story.

Good book

This first book confused me lot ,love triangle which I don't particularly like,
but since I've read this series before, I know it's good.
Narrators I don't know what to say the men did their part well ,but the woman could not make the man's voice, and this was confused me lot .Overall ok

Rating this was a struggle

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

I struggled to rate this book because it was very well written, and well narrated. But it left a really bad taste in my mouth by the end, and I had to skip entire chapters because I just couldn't deal with the plot. I loved all of the characters except for the main one -- she was an awful, awful person. Narcissistic and self-centered, and not very easy to relate to (even though I am a person who actually married her high school sweetheart). By the end of the book, I wanted her to be hit by a truck. She wasn't likable and made terrible choices ... like the typical 18 year old maybe? But I just couldn't enjoy the story.

Maybe I'm just too old for this

Seriously felt like an adult at the children's table with this one. It's sugary sweet disney, with just a hint of r rate sprinkled in. Fairytales do come true, gorgeous girl doesn't know she is and then suddenly becomes popular, feel like I've seen this movie kinda thing.

Did Anyone Else Just Want to Smack Laney?

I love this author, love this book but there were just too many times in this story that I just wanted both of these great guys to move on and find someone who would appreciate them. I understand teenage angst, but this chick ... I don't care for weak female characters and Laney's neediness made her seem weak. Fortunately, this story is so well written and the characters are fully developed with each showing different levels of depth that it's easy to overlook the flaws of the characters. Cause in all honesty, I wanted to smack Evan too for being so strung out on this girl that seemed to take way more than she ever gave.

Amazing narration -- love the trio of narrators. Hope to hear them in other books in the series.

Definitely worth the price I paid. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. This was a great start.

16 and Older Beware

If you are 16 and younger this book may be entertaining. I did not finish because it felt like I was reading a teenager’s diary.

Laney ugh

For the most part the book was good but she made me mad giving Evan hope instead of just being honest since she was supposed to be such an honest person.. bs woman up laney

Did the best man win?

Probably, What I mean is that, it's my wish that the guy that didn't get the girl gets someone more deserving of him. I thought I was going to like the H in the book she ended up being disappointing. It seems that a lot of people like Dane but honestly I don't understand why? I feel that she basically fell for him because he was able to spoil her she admittedly says that she knows nothing about him and I don't feel like his secretiveness is explained or warranted. This somewhat coming of age story lacked the ability to give me the feels. I understand what the writer was trying to do with the story but I feel that it was poorly executed. I'm moving on to the next book hoping there will some redemption for the lack of character relationship building in this one.

Laney’s heart belongs to....

I love this book from the beginning to the end. I truly couldn’t believe how the story unfold with Evan, Laney & Dane. Just pick the good guy, but they are both good....I have to say, it’s a must read kind of book even if I had it for FREE (unlimited kindle/romance package). I will probably buy the books, the series, to be on my shelf/my book collection! It’s that well written and breath taking yet sad kind of love story! Thanks S.E. Hall! Thanks, audio narrators!!!!

Wonderful emotional story of how life changes

I absolutely love the story it made me laugh, cry(which I really hate to do) but the characters are loveable and draw you into their stories. The narrators did an excellent job of tell the story through each characters eyes and gave an emotional performance. cant wait to hear the rest of the series on audio.

not bad

This series is super cheesy to me. HEA's that are to perfect to be real. I am however making through the entire series. You just connect with some of the characters. If you can suffer through the cheesiness, you should definitely read this series.
