Summary

Formula One racer Connor Blackwell is recovering from an accident on the racecourse when his father springs an ultimatum on him: get married or get disinherited. Concern for his father's health prompts him to invent a fake engagement, which forces him to produce a fiancée. Only one woman comes to mind. His personal assistant reluctantly agrees to play the role for a short time, but as Connor and Angelina prepare for a wedding never meant to take place, they're both surprised to find their faux engagement is starting to feel very real. Will they make it to "I do" despite machinations from the woman Connor's father wanted him to marry and their own doubts and insecurities?

I Liked This One

I got this ARC from the author via audiobook boom. This was a billionaire story that was well written. I loved the fact that he took on her autistic brother and helped her get him to a safe place. I don't like deceiving people not even for a good cause. It causes others to have to lie as well. This turned out well in the end but I think he could have found a better way to do it. He is smart he could have asked his father to wait until the party and he would show him his finance. But overall the story and narration were done well. There is enough deceit in the world as it is.

Great

I thought it was a good storyline. I wish the narrator had a better male voice for Connor. I would definitely recommend it.

OK Listen

This was just an ok book. I really liked the story line with the brother more than the romance. The romance was just ok. My only grip is that I feel the narrator was reading a little fast. The ending was a little sudden but that was expected with a book of this length.

A copy was provided for review by Audiobook Boom.

okay read

Any additional comments?

This was interesting, not great, but not bad either. the narrator was not that good. Would prefer more steamy scenes.

Ruse led to love

This is the first audiobooks by Mia Caldwell that I listened to. The story was well written. The narrator was new to me. At times I thought the narrator had too much expression for parts of the story. Maybe it's just me adjusting to someone new, I'm not certain. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, and/or publisher and/or narrator. The story was sweet, had little steam.

Narrator

This was the most horrible narrator. She made the book seem corny and not enjoyable.
Will note not to listen to anymore books she narrates.

Don't Know What To Say

The story wasn't for me. It developed way too fast, there wasn't an ounce of chemistry between the H/h. The drama thrown in with the friend/like-a-sister, was just out of place. Maybe if the story had been longer and the H/h had an actual friendship from start then maybe it would have worked. Otherwise, not a good story.

A lovely escaps from real life

Would you consider the audio edition of Billionaire Bad Boy's Fake Bride to be better than the print version?

Don't know I haven't read the print version, but in general I prefer the audio.

What did you like best about this story?

This would NEVER happen in real life so it made for an excellent bit of escapism.

What does Aundrea Mitchell bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Andrea's did a great job with the character's voices and the narration overall was good.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and no, it's short enough that you certainly can, and while it was good, it wasn't quite 'I can't put it down' great.

Any additional comments?

If you like the billionaire falls for a regular girl story then this once certainly delivers. It does all happen super quick in timeline as well as the length of the audiobook which makes you think 'that would never happen in real life' (except maybe in Vegas).
