Fantastic!

Summary
Kathleen Turner has goals. She moved to Indianapolis to start seeing to them, but things aren’t going quite as well as she’d hoped. She’s a runner for a high-powered law firm in town, not the most prestigious of positions, but it and her part-time bartender gig at least pays the bills. And one of the senior partners is a dreamboat in that obscenely rich, disturbingly good looking, slightly snobbish sort of way.
It’s the middle of the night when Kathleen hears fighting coming from her neighbor Sheila’s apartment. As disturbing as that is, it’s the ominous sound of silence afterwards that keeps Kathleen from falling back to sleep. Slipping from bed with the intention of making sure everything is okay, Kathleen knocks on her friend’s door, only to find Sheila murdered, her naked body sprawled on sheets stained crimson with her blood.
Shock and horror are followed by gritty determination when it becomes clear that Sheila’s death isn’t random and it isn’t the result of a jealous boyfriend. It’s the opening gambit in a web of murder, deceit, conspiracy, and fraud that stretches to the law firm for which Kathleen works. Maybe to the very office that Blane Kirk commands.
And Kathleen Turner, law office runner, can trust no one if she wants to survive.

Fun romantic escapism....
I would pigeon hole this as a romantic thriller, I have to come write out and say it, I enjoyed it, I didn't care about the ludicrous coincidences, it's written well with fun and flair, with entertaining narration by Angela Dawe.
Life has not been too great for Kat, she's had to give up a lot in the past now it's time to get her life on track, even if that means being on the bottom of the corporate ladder. Kat works two jobs, a runner in a prestigious law firm, her boss being the witch from hell and a bar maid in the evening in a busy pub, where skimpy costumes seem obligatory.
Throw in two alpha males, a murdered prostitute, electoral fraud and some very powerful enemies it becomes apparent that no-one is really telling her the truth.
Stupidly naive she has a steep learning curve, but she's like a dog with a bone and no matter the cost will get to the bottom of her friends murder.
Worth the credit to escape for a few hours.

Enjoyable book, but.....
Although I had already read this book a few years ago, I decided to get the audible version after listening to the China Mac series.
Great story, and love all the characters, however I can’t say I enjoyed the performance! I found the voice to be too deadpan, and for me unsuitable for this story. A real shame.

Great Story, Annoying Narrator

Loved this story have already read it on my kindle and was so looking forward to hearing it read to me.
However I was greatly disappointed in the narrator Angela Dawe.

I wish Kathleen was a bit tougher
These books have promise, but I don't know if I'm 100% sold. The mystery was interesting enough, but I just wasn't sold on our heroine, Kathleen Turner. I know she's supposed to be young, but how anyone can be that naive, I have no idea. She blindly trusted everyone from the many men trying to get into her pants to her random neighborhood. And she was so hell bent on getting justice for her murder neighbor. I know she's your friend and all, but seriously, you are going to risk your life to find out who killed her? That type of loyalty is usually reserved for someone you know more than a couple of months and had a few cups of coffee with. She just made so many dumb mistakes and most of what she accomplished was from blind luck as opposed to any real intelligence or skill. And she was constantly being saved by someone else. I mean, constantly. I like my heroes (men or women) to be a little more self-sufficient. I had high hopes for this cop's daughter, but overall, she disappointed me, and after a while, the book started to feel a little long with her repeated antics.
I think I'll read one more book in the series to see if things improve, because they do have potential. But if the next one is anything like the first, then I think it'll be the last.
Audiobook review: The narrator's voice was semi-robotic. It was weird because her reading of the dialogue was pretty decent. With the exception of the men's voices, I thought she did a pretty good job. But reading everything else, oh my...

Cannot stand this narrator! Had to stop listening
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Using a different narrator.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting was the mystery and the least interesting was the love triangle.
How could the performance have been better?
The biggest issue I had was that, when she did the male voices, they were so low I couldn't hear them so I increased volume, but then it was too loud when she did Kathleene's voice. Male voices were terrible. Strange inflection and monotone overall. She would emphasize the wrong words in sentences. Also nasally. Yuck!
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Would have been SO much better with a different narrator.

Kathleen Turner you rock!
If you could sum up No Turning Back in three words, what would they be?
No way you can sum this book up in three words. It was fast paced, thrilling, full of suspense, moments of humor and some hot romance. Not to mention two gorgeous men and a very sassy leading lady.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
At the beginning I thought I had worked out what was going on but the plot had so many twists and turns that it soon became obvious that I had no idea.
Which character – as performed by Angela Dawe – was your favorite?
Angela Dawe is one of my favourite narrators and this book would be one of her best. Her characterisation of Kathleen Turner was amazing - I felt like I was part of the book and part of the story.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I didn't have an extreme reaction to the book but I really enjoyed both the suspense and the humor and I think this was due both to Tiffany Snow's excellent writing and Angela Dawe's expressive narration.
Any additional comments?
I was looking out for a new author and series to follow and Tiffany Snow fits the bill very nicely.

Review No Turning Back
3 Stars
The story line was good although a little drawn out at times. The sexual tension between the protagonist Kathleen and the two brothers was extremely uncomfortable. If you want the protagonist Kathleen to fall for two men please don't make it two brothers, to much like....., well you know what I mean. I listened to this on audio maybe that was part of the problem. Listening to the reader at times was like fingers on a chalk board. Especially when she said the name Blane. Get a new reader, get rid of the three way love triangle between Kathleen and the brothers and you might have a pretty good novel. And the author keeps saying she is so average in the looks department but has all these men panting after her like she is Marilyn Monroe. Doesn't make sense, give the girl a little more confidence in her looks since they are used through out the story

What a dimwit!
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I really don't like the heroine in this story. Author describes her as a cop's daughter, but she makes the weirdest choices, and falls for her handsome boss-- but also likes his brother! Nothing gets resolved here. Author seems to be trying to follow in the line of Janet Evanovich books -- but doesn't quite make it
