Summary
Although clinical research has been conducted on narcissism as a disorder, less is known about its effects on victims who are in toxic relationships with partners with Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Individuals with this disorder engage in chronic devaluation and manipulation of their partners, a psychological and emotional phenomenon known as "narcissistic abuse". Unfortunately, the full extent of what narcissistic abuse entails is not taught in any psychology class or diagnostic manual. Since pathological narcissists are unlikely to seek treatment for their disorder, it is difficult to pinpoint what exactly makes a narcissistic abuser tick and the manipulative tactics they use, which are likely to differ from those of other types of abusers as they are more covert and underhanded. What is even more baffling is the addiction we form with our narcissistic abusers, created by biochemical bonds and trauma bonds that are also unlike any other relationship we experience.
Using the latest scientific research as well as thousands of survivor accounts, this book will explore how the emotional manipulation tactics of narcissistic and antisocial partners affect those around them, particularly with regards to its cumulative socioemotional and psychological effects on the victim. It will also address questions such as: What successful techniques, tools, and healing modalities (both traditional and alternative) are available to survivors who have been ridiculed, manipulated, verbally abused, and subject to psychological warfare? What can survivors do to better engage in self-love and self-care? How can they forge the path to healthier relationships, especially if they've been a victim of narcissistic abuse by multiple people or raised by a narcissist? Most importantly, how can they use their experiences of narcissistic abuse to empower themselves towards personal development? What can their interactions with a narcissistic abuser teach them about themselves, their relationship patterns, and the wounds that still need to be healed in order to move forward into the happy relationships and victorious lives they do deserve?

Useful
Comprehensive, lots of useful tips.
A bit redundant, repetitions in performance.
A reference pdf would be more useful than spoken URLs.

Way too long
I stuck with this book for 16 hours, but I had to stop there because the book is so repetitive. Although the contents are very useful for a sufferer like me, I only need to hear things once. Each chapter said the same things over and over again. Summing up; very useful information, but said too many times.

A BIG Thank you!
I love this book. I recommend it to anyone who is involved or has ever had an encounter with a narcissistic person especially those like myself raised by one to read it. The most helpful thing I learned was how to look at those with NPD like little children and to mirror their behaviour rather than internalise it. I invalidate back now and that feels fantastic after my invalidation all those years. After reading this book I have better boundaries in place. Learning about ‘Codependency’ relationships and how overlooked the effects of NPD has on survivors saddened me but helped me to realise I will always have to work on my inner self. This book gives great tips on self care. It’s has been very well put together by amazing people.

A totally successful healing mechanism
I have been able to use this book to understand the nature of my ex, process this and find ways to move forward and heal, The author clearly wants this to happen to the reader who is looking for help and encourages this in a very concise, knowledgeable way. I even stoped blaming myself! I feel I get it so much more comprehensively now. Thank you so much Shahida…-You totally rock

The best book you will ever read.
This book is absolutely the best book I have ever read on this subject. It restored my mental health, self esteem and gave me my sanity back. The author completely understands the mental fog, the lack of support from those around you and the full impact of this abuse. She is thorough and is a voice of compassion I desperately needed.

Good but full of pointless fill ups
This was average, there was absolutely no need for filling up the book with recommendations of websites saying the full aitch stick tee tee pee colon forward slash forward slash double ewe double ewe dot blah blah blah... For loads and LOADS of links oh my God I nearly pulled my hair out. Also full chapter on short comments on websites with where they’re from omfg too much!! ‘I’m trying to get my life back’ Sheila from Australia... ‘I feel like I’m the stalker’ Joanna from Barnsley, England’ absolutely no need for this. Other than that it was okay. Better ones out there for sure.

Good but also a bit annoying
I’m not sure audible is the right medium for this book, especially where the reader quotes reams of websites and literally speaks them out loud (http colon forward slash w w w etc). It’s off putting and I kept skipping through. The other bit that’s annoying is the feedback from “survivors”. That’s not really what you’re listening to the book for, other peoples accounts or experiences taken from a blog…
