Lawless, British Columbia is on edge after a powerful earthquake jolts the region, quickly followed by a string of savage animal attacks. Newly stationed to the area after her predecessor mysteriously disappears, Conservation Officer Christine Moon needs to calm the jangled nerves of the small mountain town. Caleb Cantrill is an Irishman whose luck may have just run out. He has two fortunes in gold and can't remember the location of either. And that's the least of his worries. A gang of blood-thirsty bandits are riding north to claim his first fortune, sovereign gold, which he fled with after a bank job went wrong. His second fortune, an immense gold strike, comes with a monstrous blight attached, one he accidentally unleashed onto a small mountain town nestled in the heart of a remote Canadian valley.

Caleb Cantrill still can't find where he hid the bandit's gold or his cavern of riches. The only thing it seems he can find is more and more of the monstrous blight he unleashed on the peaceful valley he now calls home. Adding to his troubles, his twenty-four-hour reprieve from the gang is up soon, and the bandits will be returning, looking for their gold, or his life is forfeit. Kitty Welch is swept up in a corrupt scheme which may result in her arrest and deportation back to Scotland. Though she wants to flee, there is something keeping her in the valley.

In this thrilling conclusion to the CLAW Emergence trilogy, Caleb Cantrill, Doc Brown, Sandy, and the rest of the town must now battle the trinity of horrors that have claimed the peaceful mountain valley.
