Well written and a new take on the western set in Canada in the 19th century mixed with creatures released from underground caves. It’s like the author watched the Sergio Leone westerns, Them (a film from the 1950s), Arachnophobia, and Jaws and thought how can I combine aspects of these things to make a compelling story… and did a brilliant job.
I can’t wait to read the other 2 set at this time frame and then the 2 in modern day.
Don’t buy the novellas as they are part of the beginning of this book.

This was not really what I was expecting!! I honestly didn’t read the synopsis as I had enjoyed the other books, I was expecting another tail set in this time frame, but instead it was at the start of emerging town, and how characters had started out. The creatures this time round aren’t so big!! But they are still extremely mean, and some of the villains are even meaner!!

A great story, really looking forward to the next, my only minor niggle is I found it a bit short!!
