A romantic cabin getaway doesn't go exactly as planned.

Heard so much hype about this book on a horror Facebook group , sadly some books don’t translate well as an audible version . The narrator was awful; the protagonists constantly shouted at each other so the volume was regularly reduced and they were given whiney , childish voices . I have read reviews that say the narrator was good with the various voices but I personally never heard a change in tone at all to help distinguish one voice from another .The beginning of the book was so monotonous , I’m aware that the protagonist was sleep talking but it went on for absolute ages , just a blurb of words , no distinction between voices , This was the same with the ‘ ghost’ or ‘entity’ voices , you would think it would be so important as these voices make up a large proportion of the book . Very disappointed

I absolutely loved this book! Some really creepy parts, written in a way that you can envisage exactly what’s happening. This book would make an amazing movie. Definitely a top read of 2024!

I found the story itself quite fascinating. But the narrator was a bit rubbish to be honest. I could never be sure if he was making the character sound terrified or sound sarcastic so was hard to gauge the mood of each scene.

I don't know where to begin, I've always been skeptical of audio books but this book made me fall in love with audio books for sure. The story is wonderfully written and the narrator deserves a gold star because his performance is chilling and simply perfect.
