Story6
1922 was a year of great turbulence and upheaval. Its events reverberated throughout the rest of the 20th century and still affect us today, 100 years later. Empires fell. The Ottoman Empire collapsed after more than six centuries. The British Empire had reached its greatest extent, but its heyday was over. The Irish Free State was declared, and demands for independence in India grew. New nations and new politics came into existence. The Soviet Union was officially created, and Mussolini's Italy became the first Fascist state.

Discussions of persons, events, ideas, and books related to philosophy of history. What is philosophy of history? According to Hegel, it is "nothing other than the thoughtful consideration of history." The philosophical study of history, and the analysis of history from a philosophical perspective, might involve epistemology (How do we know what we know about history?), metaphysics (Is the past real?), methodology (Is history an empirical science?), logic (problems in the philosophical logic of history), and so on.

But, the political and military twists & turns that brought about that appointment are not so well known. In this podcast, we reveal the truth about what really happened. It also includes a re-voicing on his speech on arrival, a speech that influenced much of the narrative of the Desert Campaign during the Second World War.
