Fascinating

I found the book to be well written, easy to understand and explained Viking expansion and politics in a concise manner that again was easy for the average reader to comprehend.

History

A nice brief history. It didn't get bogged down in so-and-so beating so-and-so in another battle somewhere.

Good Book

A primer on the Vikings, the book provides a good overview. It describes major turning points without going into detail. It seems to have been written for a seventh-grade history class.

very good

The book was ok but skips over the Vikings were raiding England and Europe. The background information was interesting but moved into the Christian period with little discussion of trade and society.

A good first look

A good first look at the age of the Vikings, and the likely causes of the Viking scourges that started in 793 AD and continued through the next century and more.
