Summary

A gripping tale of strength, resilience, and of how life can be devastating yet beautiful at the same time.

She was born to a working-class family in Manchester. Her father was her inspiration. She idolized this charismatic man, and he told her every day that she was special. Emulating her beloved father’s work ethic, Mandy worked on a market stall at 13 years old, then went off to university at 18, always working to help financially. From nothing and nowhere, she built a successful career in an unexpected place. She was admired, respected, and had made it.

Then her world literally fell apart, and life took her on a journey from abundance to rock bottom. There were lessons to be learned on this rocky road, and if she wanted to stay alive, it was her duty to learn them.

Facing relentless challenges, losing people she loved and every penny she had, many would have given up. But not this woman, because her dad had told her she was special.

Heartbreaking, enlightening, and ultimately uplifting, The Life I Won tells a story of success despite adversity. It will teach you that if you have the right attitude, you can play the game of life and win, no matter how bad it seems.

A story of struggle and strength

Currently on Mandy Nicholson’s (pen name King) Ultimate Creative Mastermind 12 month course, I wanted to understand my coach better and learn about her story, to see what she has been through and to get more out of the course from a place of understanding.

Having seen this book advertised on her social media, I was intrigued to find out the authors story and how she has achieved so much. What had kept her going during tough times?

Given my struggles as a dyslexic reader it's baffling to me how many authors overlook the immense value of making their works accessible in audio format. So I was delighted to discover King was on Audible.

King's masterful storytelling feels like a heartfelt conversation with a dear friend rather than a typical biography. Her resilience, positivity, and kindness shine through every twist and turn of her remarkable journey, making this more than just a narrative—it's a testament to the power of healing, resilience, and the human spirit. If you seek inspiration and profound insight into your life's challenges and triumphs, look no further than this captivating audiobook.
