So looked forward to the next book in the Code Series, and I was not disappointed, it has been another high spirited adventure, or should I say romp. With copious amounts of hilarious humour, genuine humour which fends off the 'Fifty Shades of Detective Zhang along with the with the ridiculous amount of sexual encounters from nearly half the characters exhibiting uncontrollable desires. Thankfully, the book gets back on track and the mix of violence and anticipation kept the book flowing. This book has delved deeper into other characters in the first book other than Sam and Yasmin, the main protagonist in the first book. developing an engaging story as per The Worldship Humility.
And yet again Colin Morgan delivers superbly! His narration is like no other, with his ability to jump from character to character convincingly and flawlessly, delivering each scene with measured amounts of humour and intensity. Colin is a treasure to hear. Anticipating the next installment of the series and Colin Morgan's performance keenly

What an amazing listen!
The first book in this series is fantastic and I was afraid a second one wouldn’t be as good, I needn’t have worried! It’s outstanding!
The story rockets along, it’s one of those stories you just can’t put down. Mr Haywood really has excelled himself❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
As for the narrator, Wow!!! What a virtuoso performance. It’s very hard to believe this is just one mans work! The many voices he uses totally fit the characters. Exceptional work Mr Morgan❤️❤️❤️❤️

Let me be clear - I am a massive fan of R R Haywood work, the best living author in my opinion.. I used to look forward to each new Terry Pratchett book year on year, until he sadly passed leaving a huge void in many people's lives. Now it’s Mr Haywood that fills that gap and we'll deserves his increasing success into the mainstream.

Now to this book - and it's narration.. After the excellent first book in this new series, that I read not listened to on audible, my expectations were very high indeed for this new book.. at the opening words my heart dropped - a guy reading a story with such strong female characters- and with an Irish accent to boot? I almost turned it off before it ruined my own imagination of the characters. How utterly wrong I was. Colin is nothing short of astounding. A perfect match in sheer scope and depth to match the authors His range of character accents, his expression and mastery of switching from narration to character speech, his jumping from one character accent to another and another and another - just mind blowing.

The best thing I have ever heard on any media.

Pretty good sequel with a bit of a mad plot, made me laugh out loud lots. The performance is amazing, definitely one of the best and authentic I've listened to over the past 10 years. Yes the author clearly has a filthy mind 🤣🤣 but it didn't bother me!

the characters continue to draw you deeply into their world, their emotions and responses. the storyline is well paced, entertaining, not as sophisticated as some of his other books, more a Lee child than a Frank Herbert or Wilbur Smith

Its just so irritating with all the negative reviews due to the sex and the emotions and the pov that this is not sci-fi. It doesn’t bother you at all with all the blood and gore and violence in hard sci-fi, that almost always is full of war and lots of scenes that describe battles and battlefields and deaths en masse. However put an equal amount of sex in the story and you get all cringe and write bad reviews. What’s wrong with you? I really like this series. Sure, this one is not as great as the first installment but still really good.

I couldn’t stop listening to this production. It’s not just a book it’s a whole production. The drama, the laughs, the sheer frustration at times, absolutely one of the best things I ever heard. I love R R Hayward’s style and have re-listened to all the previous series several times, and I thought nothing could top the extracted series for me, but this just blew it out of the water. Wonderful, thank you!
