Summary

Tim LaHaye's most exciting series ever, Babylon Rising, continues with this explosive new installment, including more revelations than ever before.

In The Edge of Darkness, LaHaye reveals the meaning behind some of the most carefully guarded Biblical prophecies to expose a conspiracy with terrifying consequences for our modern world.

This time Michael Murphy sets off in search of the Lost Temple of Dagon and the dark secrets of the strange god once worshipped by the ancient Philistines. His quest will lead to a final confrontation with an old enemy and uncover one of the Bible's most feared warnings, a prophecy of false miracles, false messiahs, and ultimate evil that will be fulfilled in our time...and that not even Murphy can stop once it's begun.

Once again, Tim LaHaye combines his unmatched insight into Biblical prophecy with his unique skills as a master storyteller to deliver a suspense thriller of nonstop action with a thought-provoking message for our troubled times.

Don't miss the rest of the Babylon Rising series.

Amazing! Full Marks & ENCORE!

This was all I had hoped for - a great story action-packed & with a good romantic plot too...but the best part? Revelation & confirmation of the Bible's prophecy of things to come - which we believe are already upon us. Very informative of the 'Seven's plans & real life antics. Matrix life revealed. Excellent unveiling of he Great Deceptio stage at work today.Highly recommend this series & this book!

Rip-off author needs an editor & story has no end

What disappointed you about The Edge of Darkness?

I am willing to put forth a willing suspension of disbelief when there is a professor that is also an adept killer (though only in self defense) who can easily beat up 2 ninjas and one sumo wrestler and who also flies all over the world (on a professors salary) to do archeological work. (that is not sponsered by his university. However I can't buy into the fact that while on these archeological forays with a killer at large the main characters stop to discuss parts of the bible in a pedantic manner, meanwhile their buddy is outside getting slaughtered because they stopped to have a lenghty bible discussion. I don't buy it. Also they could not have this conversation while running becuase no one can carry on talking like that while running for their lives.

What could Bob Phillips and Tim LaHaye have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Reality checks.....try running your ideas by someone...preferably female. Your story reads like a totally unrealistic video game. I mean SERIOUSLY bad.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Poor accents.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Edge of Darkness?

I am Christian and I can see why the author is trying to include biblical explanations for things...but they need to be less pedantic, and need to take place at realistic times. Also they know the bible and know that these things are going to happen since they are predicted in the bible. The main character knows this to so I don't understand why he is fighting so hard against the 7 in the book. He knows their reign is predestined. Also have a hard time believing that 2 drop dead females fall for this blow hard of a professor. I also don't believe Talon would be soooo stupid as to use his submarine as a ram. He would had to have been smarter than that. He should have just bided his time and stole it from the archeologist like he did with every other object.

Any additional comments?

I feel seriously ripped off. This is clearly part of a series but the author didn't even bother to make a suitable beginning or end also it was very short. I don't understand why he stopped there it didn't make any sense to me. (Other than he wanted to make more $$$ ) by writing little novels rather than writing a good and complete work....well guess what this is the last book of yours that I buy!!!!

These Books just keep getting better!!!

If you are a fan of the Left Behind series of just a new reader. These books just keep making Scripture easier to understand. I think we should all pay attention to the Books... Because to put it simply. "One day these events will play out for all to see."

cliff hanger!

I loved this book. They left it on a cliffhanger, so now I'm eager to know what happens to Murphy, Isis, and all the rest of the characters in this series.

build up build up build...plung off a cliff..end

My title is the plot, sadly.
On the positive, this story has action, it has bible, it acknowledges our world's lost nature, it has love...sortof.
The story does a great job building...though it barely acknowledges the cliffhanger ending of the previous book and only resolves it about halfway through this story.
However, there is no ending....
The plot builds to a climax which would normally resolve in the next few chapters or hang precariously from a cliff until the next book in the series........Except the book ends and so does the series. As best I can tell, there are no subsequent storylines in any series that resolve the characters. It honestly feels as though the author was preparing for a final book....all the cards were on the table for such....but lost the financial backing to do so....though he has far too much from The Left Behind Seriez for that to truly be a problem.
The unresolved plot and murdered storyline were frustrating...I know, I'm American and expect resolution, but, this book honestly feels like I ordered this world's most delicious dessert, it was brought to the table, and just as I was sticking the spoon on the table....somebody blew up the table.
Great story to a point, but boy Mr. Lahaye, did you poop on the end of it.
if I were you....stop reading after book 3 and imagine that Michael survives the tunnel with Abrams, goes home, and kisses Isis...cue credits and romantic music. You're better off that way .
