Summary

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything - Scout's love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he's never been able to overcome. The secret he's never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he's hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

In my eyes better than book 1

Book 2 in the Player duo and my heart goes out for Easton Wylder. If I hadn't have fallen in love with him in The Player, I'd definitely be head over heals in love with him after reading The Catch. The Catch answers all the questions I didn't realise I had from the previous book, it put the whole story in perspective for me and also added a little angst and challenge to the chemistry emitted by Easton and Scout. Covering some sensitive issues that had me snivelling quietly into my hankie, K Bromberg has given me everything I felt was missing in book 1, and I finished the book with a smile on my face, happy that I decided to finish the duet (I was in two minds after the first book, which yes, I thought was good, but I needed to feel more, book 2 gave me that feeling, you know the one, where is this book going and why can't I stop reading). Again told in dual POV with wonderful characters, an excellent story, lovely writing and lots of passion. This book cannot be read as a standalone, book 1, The Player should be read first. Perfect narration. I love these guys.

OK romance, but a cliffhanger

This is one of my pet irritations. a book that is incomplete unless you buy the rest of the story. This story is incomplete without also listening to The Player.

5 The Catch Stars

I am left with a full heart after this book.

I said it before I am not a fan of cliffy’s and well that still holds true but… wow these books were phenomenal I can forgive the cliffy. ;)

Easton really surprised me in this book, because I felt in the first book he held back so much. With this book he let it all hang out, sure he took time for himself when needed and I can’t fault the guy for that he had to work through things on his own before he could let Scout in.

Phew and Scout she was awesome she let Easton have the time he needed and she would seek him out when she knew he needed that too. She really goes through a lot in this book more so because of the health issue her father was having. You see her struggle and I liked that Easton was there for her when she needed him. Very much liked that she was there for Easton without judgment that was a surprise to me and it made me like her all the more for it.

What a great end to a two book series, it tied everything up but still left us with so much to think about. A full heart.

Total fan of the narration too both Andi and Joe have that special something that brings this book to life in our ears. I can’t think of a better duo to have done this book justice.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Predictable

The overall story was good. It just took long to get the point a fee of the times. I do want to do any spoliers but there were a few times when I was thinking... come obviously this is what is happening.... get to the point.

Don’t judge a man until...

... until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins. That’s the moral I took from this story.

Right up until the moment Easton confessed to Scout his huge secret I was angry with his behavior towards her and was referring to him as a “man-child”, and wondering what the hell such a well-put-together woman was seeing in him. Then it all became clear, and I felt like such an @$$hole. I thought he was being a typical alpha male jackass, and then I felt like the jackass.

This was a good story, made so much better by such an awesome team of narrators; Andi and Joe are at the pinnacle of their profession.

It was more than a romance; but the love scenes were really hot, too. I’ve noticed now that Kristi writes a kind of physical and emotional intimacy that makes me cry and want what she describes for myself, an incredible level of articulate closeness that just blows the mind and wrecks the heart. I find it easy to empathize with what the lovers are feeling and saying to each other, the way she writes it.

The only reason I didn’t give the story part of this 5 stars is because I’m trying to save my 5-star ratings for things like War & Peace or Dune.

Something Different

I enjoyed this book(s) immensely. The fact that it was different from all the rest. Everything wasn’t all perfect in the end. In real life there are ups and downs and this book was the same.

The story allowed us to get to know the characters. This was one on the books that you felt sad when it was ending. It’s worth your time.

Great Conclusion!!

5 Stars / 4 Steam Fans

This picks up where The Player left off with Scout and Easton's journey. As they worked out their issues even more emotional topics twist and turn into their journey. I loved every minute! I found myself emotionally connected with the topics that Easton and Scout had to deal with. The sexiness was just the perfect amount compared to the emotional topics. Overall, I am really happy that I continue to take on K. Bromberg's books.

This specific video review will be included in the January 2019 wrap-up.

The perfect baseball romance fans duet

What a great second part and closing to this baseball romance duet. I couldn't start this book fast enough. What a cliffhanger book one left us on. This book jumps right back in. Immediately I am back in Easton and Scout's world and I am hooked again. I am not going to give any details because you NEED to read book one, The Player. So much is on the line for this couple. His future, her future, their decisions, their mistakes, their secrets, other secrets... What a whirlwind of more emotions. I loved every moment of it. There were so many moments that had me smiling, laughing, crying and feeling ever word of this story. This book also satisfied my baseball loving heart. I felt like K Bromberg really understood a baseball lovers needs in this book. These narrators also helped bring this story to life even more. I can't express enough how much I love this duet. This is a must read/listen for all romance fans, especial sports/baseball fans.

Love ❤️ the book

I loved the story line and narration...the quirks, the heartfelt story line, the significance of family, the triumph and tribulations of life and most of all relating to how much faith and love can really make or break lives.
