About this listen
First rule of being a nanny? Don’t fall for the single dad, even if he is smoking hot.
But that’s exactly what happens when grumpy small-town sheriff Asher Whitlock reluctantly hires me to take care of his daughter for the summer. Neither of us is thrilled with the arrangement, but he’s desperate for help, and I need the money for grad school this fall.
All we need to do is keep our distance and remain professional. Turns out, that’s easier said than done.
Instead of focusing on my future, all I see is the strong jawline, crystal-blue eyes, and rock-hard body right in front of me. We try to resist each other, but we end up crossing every line until I’m in his bed.
I tell myself it’s just this once.
Okay, twice.
All right, every night.
But it’s got to end–he’s 14 years older than me, with a kid and a stressful job. Have I mentioned my dad is his boss? Then, there’s the past I’m trying to forget. Secrets aren’t easy to keep, and mine are getting too big to hide.
Walking away is never simple, but when I do, I can’t look back.
Even if it means leaving behind the man I was never meant to love.

Phoebe is so sweet and caring. Mr.Grumpy him self, took a while to grow on me, but in the end I just loved him too.
Olivia is just❤️
Narrations are GOLD! 2 of my favourites and they did a splendid jobb.
Lots of twists in this book, that made it very exiting to read on. Hard to put down. Some fun moments too and fun bantering. Many nice side caracters. Will definately relisten and wait for more books from this family❤️

The book was sweet and funny, and once Asher and Phoebe got together, it was extra spicy 🥵.

This is Asher & Phoebes story and it starts with a bang.
Asher is a single dad who's daughter is deaf, the whole family learn to sign as soon as they find out the little girl is deaf. I've loved people being deaf brought into the story, all three books in the story mention this and its refreshing to hear the trials for deaf children and their families, its handled very well indeed, but does show the tribulations with the world outside.
Phoebe is the new nanny and although she can sign she has never been a nanny before much to Ashers distrust, however Phoebe is spectacular with his daughter which he sees straight away, Both can't keep their distance (oh yes) although they try!! its a great age gap story where Asher is 14 years older than Phoebe, he's the town Sheriff......need I say more!!
I will re listen to this story as it has all the feel good factors its especially hot as hell.
The narration is superb, I mean you can't go wrong listening to Zachary Webber and Desiree Ketchum they make the best music together every single time.
Loved this story so much, these are the first books i've listened to by this author and it won't be my last, I'm already looking into her back log catalogue, as once you start these stories you need so much more.
Get it you will not regret it, I purchased this audiobook with a purchased credit and I'd do it again!!
Just jealous that you my dear friends get to start it for the fist time, your in for a treat xx

I loved the representation of the deaf community in this book. It’s rare that disability is written in such a way that it’s integral to the story and completely normalising and authentic at the same time. Liv is Asher’s 9-year-old deaf daughter and she is just adorable.
This story has an enemies-to-lovers vibe too as in the beginning, Asher hates Phoebe, so when her dad suggests she be his temporary nanny he is not thrilled. But underneath he is lusting after her big time. I think it’s always interesting to see how authors write that moment where the fighting turns to loving and Corinne nailed it. Also, the spice is nice in this one!
I have to say I wasn’t a major fan of the plot twist but, saying that, it was written well, and I can appreciate that others will enjoy it. It just wasn’t my jam. Even with that, I’d definitely recommend this book as overall it was great.
With Desiree voicing the slightly lost, but strong underneath, Phoebe and Zach embodying the hugely protective Asher with the marshmallowy centre, you have a delightful listening experience.
Now I’m curious to read the other Whitlock tribe’s stories.
A solid start to a new series.
