About this listen
New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg is back with an all new second-chance, standalone hockey romance.
At first, the request seemed simple - sign a new athlete to the agency.
Then I found out the new athlete was none other than the most wanted man in hockey today: Hunter Maddox.
Gifted. Sexy. At the top of his game. And the only man who has ever broken my heart.
If signing him will help save our family business, I’ll swallow my pride and do what’s asked.
But when it becomes clear his uncharacteristic antics off the ice are a hint of something deeper, keeping things strictly professional between us becomes more than complicated. But I know better than to cross that line.
I’ll never date a client. Not even for him.

Win the Stanley Cup and do it before time runs out.
Not a small feat, but it’s what’s motivated me since the start of my career.
And time is running out.
Enter Dekker Kincade.
Feisty. Dogged. Damn gorgeous. The one I let get away.
I have no idea why she’s traveling with the team, but hell if resisting her is going to be easy.
But I have a job to do, and I refuse to lose sight of that end game. Even if she confuses me. Even if she sees parts of me I’ve hidden from the world.
I can’t lose focus. Not even for her.
©2020 K. Bromberg (P)2020 K. BrombergThis story was filled with so much emotion. Everything from pure love for his brother, survivors guilt, fear and desperate longing for love and acceptance. It was a beautiful story that contained real life tragedy. I loved the heard-earned happily ever after and cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

Hard to Handle was no different. Hunter and Dekker's story kept me fully enchanted. I’m not usually big into sports romances, least of all hockey, but again, I didn’t feel like it was too much sports for me. The sports that was added was brilliant and added to the story. Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan are the best narrators. They brought so much heart to this emotionally charged story that was riddled with humor and love. I couldn’t get enough!

Emma Wilder and Jacob Morgan bring this gem to life. A better casting could not have been made. Wilder tunes into Dekkar and lets us feel every emotion she has. She has a lot to work through and each inflection of her voice let's us into her heart. For me, this is one of Morgan's best performances. He has a character with so much to deal with, and he focuses in, giving us each feeling with the nuances in his voice. He made me grab a tissue or two. These two truly enhanced the story and I highly recommend it!

Hot Hockey Player with a big heart

Hunter is a famous hockey player who is going through a very difficult time, however, he doesn't seem to be getting the support he needs and desperately craves, instead he is lashing out and starting fights. He is basically very hard to handle.
Dekker Kincade's family business is going under, as an agent, she needs new clients. Who better to snap up but the hockey player who is hoping to win the Stanley Cup, Hunter. With their shared past, can Dekker be that support system he desperately needs? Can she get through to him?
I loved everything about this book. It was captivating, playful yet full of angst. It had me gripped from the very start. At times I wanted to kill both characters, Hunter as he was rude and arrogant and Dekker, for the lack of communication, however, in saying that, it all makes sense and I ended up loving them both!
Overall I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a second chance romance and sports romance.
