Summary

Some people just can't stand each other. Kayla and Evan are definitely some of those people.

It's annoying enough that they are plane partners and have to sit next to each other through the entire flight to Italy for their senior class trip, but things go from bad to worse when their plane makes an emergency stop. Their lives unexpectedly change as soon as Kayla follows Evan into a dark corridor and, right after, things just escalate from worse to tragic.

“I won't begin to suggest that I know what you're feeling, but I know what it feels like to love someone who doesn't love you back.”

To add icing to Kayla’s wretched cake, she finds out that that Ben, her perfect boyfriend, isn’t so perfect after all and has been hiding a basket full of dirty secrets from her. Dead set on getting back at him, she turns to the only person she thinks who is just as hurt as her and crazy enough to sign up and play along with her plan - Evan.

“Be my fake boyfriend, Evan Winters. I promise never to love you, care for you or...well...you get the idea.”

But they’re just pretending. Except when one of them is suddenly isn’t....

A freak storm, stolen chickens, a language barrier, and a big adventure. The senior trip of their life. But will they ever be the same people once they go back?

Find out in this unexpected romantic comedy that has Kayla and Evan butting heads as they meet interesting people, end up in jail, learn valuable lessons, and experience heartaches, and new beginnings - together.

Incredible Coming of Age

The Best Part of Hello is an incredible coming of age book by Hollie Armstrong. I really enjoyed this story with its unexpected events. The imagery in the story was so well done, and the narration was spectacular! Sarah Sampino brought the characters to life. She performed them with distinguishable voices and sounded realistic in emotions and age inflection. I loved Kayla and Evan's chemistry in this book.

My part of hello

This story was a strange one for me, I didn't really know where it was going until around half way through. Then it began making more sence in its direction. It has really nice romantic scenes. The description is very relatable. The characters are very likable and the narration is brilliant, especially for Evan. The ending was done beautifully, so much so that I teared up :)

The Best Part of Hello

Kayla starts this trip off having to sit on the plane next to her neighbor Evan, who she thinks she hates. Shortly after an emergency landing due to weather, she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her. And they are stuck in this airport due to a storm for an undermined time. They never make their destination and are stuck in Europe for an extended amount of time due to storm damage. Evan becomes her best confident and friend. Her only fear is will this continue when they return home. Great job with the narration by Sarah Sampino.

Good story

I enjoyed listening to this story. Evan and Kayla don’t really like each other.... or do they? The storm while they are on their school trip brings all of the students together in a way they don’t expect. Kayla’s boyfriend and Evans girlfriend... well... they’re not nice. The plan to pay them back goes forward, but when they return home... things change in a way they don’t deal with well.

I love the way the story develops and the characters as well. It’s my first Hollie Armstrong listen/read... but it probably won’t be the last.

Best part of hello

3.5 I thought that this was an ok story. The characters had to go through a lot trauma and drama before their "i want you" moment". I felt like the story was just getting to The romance when it ended.
The narrator did a good job with the characters and accents.

The best part of an audio is here

This is a YA story that will have you on the edge of your seat. There are many levels and by that I mean lots of action and anticipation with what will happen next . Holly writes about what any teenager goes through, trying to fit in at school . Trying to connect with all the cool kids . Who do you follow.

Heroine is Kayla. Hero is Evan
I’m reviewing this as part of audio book obsession and the view is my own
Evan and Kayla has always been eating away at each other . Kayla has only eyes for her boyfriend. Until she finds out what her boyfriend is all about . Something happiness , a tragedy that will bring Kayla and Even together, they depend on each other to help those that can't. Because of that , they start to bond strongly .

Sarah performance was great . Her tone for each character was great. Her voice brought justice to the audio

The Best Part of Hello

This was a roller coaster ride of emotions. I can't imagine going through everything these kids went through and not being more traumatized. If fact I feel like a lot of the feelings they should have been having were down played a bit especially considering the circumstances that they were in. Literally dealing with a life or death situation for DAYS with no medical or outside help, and then going on about their business once it was done was a bit hard to believe. Kayla seemed to be more effected once she was home then she was in the middle of it all happening.

I love the dynamic between Kayla and Evan, the hate to love, enemies to friends and more. I dont think I would have been as forgiving as Evan was. Especially since it was hinted at that maybe his home life was more traumatic then we knew about.

The audio performance by Sarah Sampino was really well done. I enjoyed the different accents and being able to distinguish each character clearly.

Intriguing story

What a captivating story. Their senior class has to deal with a weather tragedy while on a class trip in Italy. Enemies to lovers romance. I love the characters. The narration was great. HEA. I just wish their would have been an epilogue. I recommend this book.

I loved this story

The Best Part of Hello was my first Hollie Armstrong novel. This clean YA novel held my interest until the very end and I very much enjoyed the story. The characters were likable and very much relatable and it was interesting to see their development after the situation they were thrust into. This novel included both enemies to lovers and fake relationship tropes into one fascinating story. I enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to all lovers of YA romance.
The audible version of this story was narrated by Sarah Sampino. She did a fantastic job with the narration of these characters. She was  able to portray varying voices and personalities for the different characters and really brought the story to life. I absolutely loved listening to her narrate this book.

Totally enjoyable with great narration.

Sarah Sampino brings these characters to life beautifully.

I love the set up of this story. It made me chuckle so much as I watched the things they got up to. I really enjoyed how the characters interacted and how they grew and changed throughout the story. Really enjoyable.
