Summary

Losing your ability to speak at the age of 17; it's not normal or fair. But trauma has a way of throwing normality out the window. Dani lives anything but a normal life: her sister is married to one of the biggest names in Hollywood, her best friends are rock stars, and she has more love around her than most people experience in a lifetime. But that doesn't change the fact their parents are dead, or that it's her fault. It seems her new normal is being a mute, living on the inside, unable to actually communicate on the outside. That is until Hollywood's newest heartthrob Lincoln Greene hires her as his assistant for the summer. He's gorgeous, completely unavailable, and unobtainable. But that doesn't stop her from wondering, if things were different, would he want her? If she was whole, would he be the other half?

Great story

I enjoyed the story around these two. Definitely need to read the seaside series. It refers to those characters so much. This is a good young adult book because the steamy parts are non existent but it didnt take away from the love story of a girl that survived a traumatic loss and a Hollywood heart throb.

Welcome to Seaside.

After a traumatic trigger Dani finds herself Mute. Lincoln is a Hollywood star in need of an assistant. Dani thinks Lincoln is attractive but doesn’t let it shows. They have a kindred spirit type thing going on. The story is short. Loved the supporting characters.

Not bad but...

I've listened to a couple of this author's books and I have to dock points for the simple fact she re-writes the same main female character over and over, even when they exist in the same town and are friends with the ones from previous books. Which makes her books gradually less entertaining and more frustrating as the characters react the same way to similar situations.

As for this book specifically, it's entertaining, didn't inspire a lot of emotion in me but it was fun to listen to, the drama between the two leads was there but it was diffused in a relatively realistic manner and pace, which is rare and I enjoyed a lot. Listening to characters fight for 80% of a book over a simple misunderstanding that would be resolved in minutes in reality is maddening.

Repeat chapter error?

Would give more stars in performance but chapter 30 is repeated at 7 min and about 30 sec in.

My 1st RVD book

I loved it. Can't wait to read Zanes story and the rest of RVD's books. I do think the Brittany could have narrated this one on her own. She had a better Lincoln Voice. I liked Peter's voice, just not for that character.

Fast Read

The Narration of Brittany and Peter was good.. they work was great especially when they had to change their voices to other characters, they made me laugh and cry a few times.. great work..

This was a fast read and funny..

Dani had a very bad experience that left her temporary without a voice.. she is the sister of a famous actress and the sister-inlaw of a famous actor. trying to make her life easier, they give her the opportunity to work with them onset as the assistant of one of the most handsome and hot guys in Hollywood Lincoln Greene .. she didn't expect him to be that breathtaking.. now is a matter of time to see if she will fall for his charms ..

Lincoln Greene was a very famous actor making his way in Hollywood, he has just a few months on set and he will be leaving soon for his next project and life.. but he didn't count that his assistant was going to steal his heart and make him change all his future plans..

if you are looking for a soft ride and a good laugh.. this is a good book to get.

Amazing performance to a wonderful story

I’ve had this book on my kindle for a long while, just haven’t had the chance to read it so I was very happy to see that it was available as an audible. I am huge fan of Rachel Van Dyken. If you have read her Seaside series, you will recognize the main characters as supporting characters from that series.
The author did a wonderful job with this spin off series and it was so great to catch up with prior characters.
The narrators Peter Coleman and Brittany Pressley are new to me, but I look forward to listening to other books that they narrate. The narrators really brought this story to life and made it difficult when I had to stop listening. They were able to voice the emotions that Dani and Lincoln were experience from fear to laughter and everything in between. I’m looking forward to listening to the rest of this series. As these narrators have made this great series even more intriguing.

Not bad

The story is sweet. I wish I would have known it was more for teens. Since the girl in the story is 17.
