Summary

My name is Skylar Quinn. I just moved to New York with my best friend Bridget, and I have a confession. Well, more than one. Okay, quite a few really. Fine, here goes!

Confession number one: I'm a sex columnist. Hold on, that's not really the confession. You see, I'm sort of a virgin...sex columnist.

Confession number two: I'm kind of in love with Bridget's older brother, Oliver. No, I was. No, I am. Wait, was? Am? Crap.

Confession number three: I've been avoiding Oliver for four years. Or I was until today, because he just moved in. Yes, you read that correctly. He's my new roommate. So that night we've both been pretending never happened, well, we might not be able to keep it a secret any longer.

And trust me, this is only the beginning.

Confession: What a fun listen

I liked this duet. It’s fun and hilarious with drama and a little angst.
But Sky did kind of annoy me 🙈 at times.
A little slow at times but it works.
Ollie is so sexy. So patient and kind.
Overall great listen.

2 books in 1

In the first book I was totally hooked and didn’t want to stop listening. A friends to lovers romance with a bit of drama to get there. The second book was ok but made me a little crazy with Sky having very little self confidence. Sky falls in love with her best friends brother and second guesses everything. I do love how they get to their HEA though. The narration was great and I recommend this book.

Confessions

I am always up for a good Rom-Com and Sky was a fun and quirky character, with that geeky socially awkward vibe. I would have liked for her to have a little bit more confidence. The side characters added a lot to the story to help keep it going.

This was the first narration ive heard by Annie Abate, and I absolutely loved her. She has a unique style that fit well with the fun quirky rom-com vibe.

Entertaining

The performance by Annie Abate made this audiobook stand out. This duet contains the two parts of the series presented together back to back. If you happened to listen to them separately, it breaks at a slight cliffhanger, but it doesn't feel like it stopped in the middle of the story.

I preferred the first part, as the main character's actions in the second got even further away from what I wanted her to do. Her lack of self-confidence gets old, especially when she knows what she should do, but doesn't.

I couldn't really relate to the character's actions, but I still found the story entertaining. I actually laughed out loud at the scene with the parents in part two's confession 21.

Quirky

I enjoyed this fun romantic comedy even though Skylar was a bit exhausting to listen to. She was neurotic and socially awkward. Ollie acted like an annoying older brother but as the story progressed, he became a considerate boyfriend. The secondary characters added a lot to this story. Annie Abate did a great job bringing out the quirky, emotional side of the characters and this story as a whole to life.

I confess..I loved it!

Two for the price of one, and hours of humor! What more can you ask for? Kay Marie has written a quirky, witty duet that had me completely entertained. The first book, Confessions of a Virgin Sex Columnist had me smiling at work. With a promotion at hand, Skye comes clean to her best friend Bridget of a secret she has kept! But the secret is told to Ollie, Bridget's older brother and Skylar's crush! With Skye's craziness and Ollie's protectiveness, it was hard not to love this book.Witty, frustration and all around good fun, this book had me laughing. Then we get the pleasure of continuing the story in Confessions of an Undercover Girlfriend! Now things really get hairy, with trying to keep Ollie under wraps and get back together with John. Will it blow up in Skye's face and will she end up with anyone? Listen to this funny! You will have laugh out loud moments, along with frustration and that moment when you know love is real. A perfect way to spend an afternoon. Kay Marie, you have a new fan!

I love Annie Abate, she has a phenomenal narration style. Amazing comedic timing, a myriad of voices and perfect pacing, this performance is entertainment at it's finest.

confessions is amazingly funny

I laughed so hard while listening to this duet. It was so cool to listen to both at the same time. The writing was really good and the narration was done well. The characters were pretty relatable and make you laugh. This is such a fun book to listen to. I love Oliver. Skylar is so funny. This was a great read and well worth a credit.

Cute

I laughed, I cried, I got frustrated it was good, a little drawn out. I enjoyed it very much.

The narration was mostly good, I wasn’t convinced with the male voices!

Funny, sweet and delightfully quirky!

Poor Skylar Quinn. She lands herself a wonderful career oportunity for a writer. She has been given a column all of her own. Except it is a sex column. And Skylar is a 22 year old virgin. Oh! And she told her best friend that she lost her virginity to her cheating ex-boyfriend. And now she needs said best friend's help for experienced insight into the murky depths of dating in New York City.

So Skylar runs home to confess to Bridget (her best friend and roommate) about her little lie but due to a lack of communication accidentally admits her gaffe to Bridget's older brother, Oliver. Her lifelong crush who broke her heart 4.5 years ago. Oliver who she has avoided for the last 4 5 years but now is living with them as their roomate. Poor Skylar Quinn.

This audiobook is actually two books in one and is absolutely delightful. Skylar, Bridget, Ollie and all the other characters take the audience on a wonderful rollercoaster ride of events and emotions as Skylar confesses her way through the trials and tribulations of dating. She is slightly neurotic and quirky which only adds flavour to the narration. I love that the happily ever after is not simply got but carefully and painstakingly achieved. Yes there is a HEA and Skylar certainly deserves it!

Kay Marie is an insightful author and Annie Abate does a stellar job of performing these books. Each character comes to life in a way that is unique to him or her. I really enjoyed listening to the narration!
