Summary
The era of the Old Republic is a dark and dangerous time, as Jedi Knights valiantly battle the Sith Lords and their ruthless armies. But the Sith have disturbing plans—and none more so than the fulfillment of Darth Scabrous’s fanatical dream, which is about to become nightmarish reality.
Unlike those other Jedi sidelined to the Agricultural Corps—young Jedi whose abilities have not proved up to snuff—Hestizo Trace possesses one extraordinary Force talent: a gift with plants. Suddenly her quiet existence among greenhouse and garden specimens is violently destroyed by the arrival of an emissary from Darth Scabrous. For the rare black orchid that she has nurtured and bonded with is the final ingredient in an ancient Sith formula that promises to grant Darth Scabrous his greatest desire.
But at the heart of the formula is a never-before-seen virus that’s worse than fatal—it doesn’t just kill, it transforms. Now the rotting, ravenous dead are rising, driven by a bloodthirsty hunger for all things living—and commanded by a Sith Master with an insatiable lust for power and the ultimate prize: immortality . . . no matter the cost.
Critic reviews
“Brilliant . . . This book combines two of my favorite things on earth: the Star Wars universe and the undead.” (Tommy Wirkola, director of Dead Snow)

The performance gets better
The actor is poor at the beginning, he gets better as the book goes on but it's difficult to listen to towards the start of the book.
The book it's self is not his strongest, though still very much worth a read

A prequel you'll enjoy first time round.
Great story, nice to hear about characters not remotely associated with Skywalker saga.
only flaw 2 flaws I have is the lack of using the Force, considering the characters are mostly Sith. And the scream sound effects.... oh deary me. Terrible effect which is used A LOT. Overall a great book.

Not for the faint-hearted, or gardeners
I thought I might struggle with this book. There's barely a likeable character in it. For a book set in a school, it's filled with a lot of budding sociopaths. But, that does make it more satisfying when the main plot kicks in.
There's a lot of gore and... smells. So much so that I could well imagine the macabre scenes playing out. If you don't mind that, or a plot that unfolds as characters run for their lives, you'll have a good time.
The main character has a force talent, and job, that I don't think I'd heard of before. That made for a very unique -yet still very Star Wars-like story. Great writing and performance.

Star Wars meets The Walking Dead !!!
Although, I did really enjoy this Star wars Zombie romp,........I must confess that it didn't draw me in like most other Star Wars journeys !!! (*And being a life-long & MASSIVE Star Wars fan, I have delved deep into the Star wars universe, so know a thing or two about it !!)
However, as the book wasn't that long, it did make for an enjoyable few hours & as I am currently going through ALL audio Star wars audio-books/drama's in Chronological order & this one was next in line, so had to be listened too !!!
A Star Wars Zombie Apocalypse !!!
WHAT ?? Has Darth Scarbrous DONE ???
What is the Moricomie Lily ??
Was this simply a vain attempt at immortality ??
Are the Dead,.........Still dead, properly dead ??
Well I guess that you will have to listen for yourselves & make up your own minds !!!

Amazing performance and sounds
I had already read this book a while ago and could remember most of the story and certai details vividly but listening to it with sounds was incredible. It took a totally different effect and even put me off my food when listening to it while I ate. I would recommend to any Star Wars EU fans or just sci-fi thriller fans in general

Good story, Shakey performance
Loved the story but the narrator would add spaces in unusual places. At times I thought I was listening to Captain Kirk! This pulled me out of the story on more than one occasion
