Summary
The Earth has changed. War is now fought in an alien virtual reality - the Game - where many of the players are anything but human.
Now part of the Black Rose guild, Alan heads to the Academy to level up and get stronger. He hopes to make allies and learn skills to win the battles to come. But with everyone pursuing their own agendas, what can one gamer do in a universe he still doesn't fully understand?

Non stop entertainment!
The second installment of Yap's 'The Game' is even more gripping than the first. I'm not a gamer myself - the story is standalone entertaining and so appropriate to a broader action and Sci -Fi/fantasy junkie audience. This story draws you into a multi faceted, complex universe with rich characters and abounding plot twists - the next installment can't come soon enough.

Wow, Book 3 can't come soon enough!
Book two was amazing! expanding on Alan's adventures from the previous book the first few chapters set the tone for another great book.
It is slow at times but they're either for plot explanation or for general description, One thing I love about this series is the Narration, Nick Podhel really out does himself and delivers another great narration.
would definitely recommend the series to any avid gamer, it sci fi fan!

Another epic installment
I was expecting a party of five, Alan, kitana, sidestep, etc to go on some quests and dungeons for loot and levels, but instead the story took a much larger more interesting route and it was great.
It was a little less 'gamey' than the first but as the ground was already set this wasn't a bad thing.
I genuinely can't wait for more.

good not great
Spends too much time listing abilities and useless information for the sake of wasting time to an already short book. Jumps from one scene to the next without explaining or summarising many events. And lastly it expects us to believe a random idiot, makes it out of all these situations with very basic knowledge or skill and just picks up OP power after the next. Started out good now not sure.

starting to lose interest
after listening to the first book and thinking it was a little bit slow to start really enjoyed the book overall and got into it and was looking forward to book two unfortunately have to say overall pretty disappointed at one point I thought the book was too complicated and I wasn't keeping up with what was going on within the book but then I realised it's not that the plot is complicated it's just that I don't care what is going on seems to have lost all its momentum and I really had to push myself to listen to the last 5 hours one of the other reviews I had read said it was better than ready Player One couldn't disagree with this more would recommend that book over these two books any day

A truly gripping series!
By far the most immersive RPG series I have read this decade. Thee authors attention to detail is impeccable and succeeds in capturing the quintessential nuances of the genre. Thus is definitely one to read to the end, hopefully there will be many more additions.

Good sequel
Enjoyable story too short though and no real epic battles all seems a little easy for the hero and lacks tension but an enjoyable book in all

Great twists
When I picked up this book and saw it will be about the war I didn't think I'll enjoy it as much as the first one. I was positively surprised. It managed to keep the story interesting and I loved the twists. There were some things I didn't see coming. All in all...love it!

Don't waste time reading this review
Just buy the book and enjoy the GAM3 world. The story develops interestingly and brings important details needed later.
