Summary

Robin of Locksley returns from the Crusades to find his people starving and oppressed by the new Sheriff of Nottingham. Under this tyrannical regime, the slightest crime attracts the heaviest punishment, and dissent is impossible. Robin soon discovers that the only way to reason with the Sheriff is with bow and arrow, even if it means sacrificing his lands and becoming an outlaw.

This exciting adventure is read by Richard Armitage, who plays Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood. It also features Robin and his loyal band of brothers, as seen in the hit BBC TV series.

Crammed with action, humour, wit and romance, this fantastic adaptation of the classic tale brings the legendary outlaw hero to life for a whole new generation.

Interesting and exciting take on an old story

This was an astonishingly good read. I thought it might be a children’s story but there was no way this was good for young children. I got so carried away with it that I couldn’t stop listening and it was responsible for several poor nights’ sleep! The reading was brilliant. Richard says at the end that it is the first one he has done but I find that hard to believe and look forward to hearing many more of his efforts! Well done!

A lot of fun!

Possibly my favourite audiobook.

Armitage is a brilliant narrator, he does the characters such justice, you can really see in your mind the story he's telling. He's got it spot on!

The audiobook is very true to the series, it's good fun, exciting but also quite touching in parts. I'd definitely recommend it.

Świetne wykonanie

Richard Armitage jest mistrzem czytania. Doskonale naśladuje głosy i oddaje emocje. Fabuła niezbyt przekonująca, ale znam serial i wiedziałam, czego się spodziewać.

Not “The Complete Series 1”

I would like to start by saying that I loved this audiobook. Richard Armitage’s narration was perfect; his descriptions where engaging and interesting and his character voices were perfect.
HOWEVER, I do not think this should be labelled as “The Complete Series One” when it only contains the first 4 episodes out of a13 episode series. Not only had it left me a bit disappointed that I don’t get to hear the rest of this brilliant book, but it has also left me feeling a little bit cheated since I’ve only gotten a third of what I paid for.
Overall, well worth listening to and I will definitely listen again, just be aware that it only goes up to series 1 episode 4.
