About this listen

When the Earl of Granville is skewered with a pitchfork in his own stables, Inspector Haze and Lord Redmond must unearth decades-old family secrets in order to unravel the motive behind the murder. But just when they think they’re making headway, disturbing new revelations come to light and cast doubt on their findings.

As Redmond and Haze finally inch closer to the truth, a faceless enemy will stop at nothing to keep them from uncovering it.

An enjoyable story with lots of twists and turns. I enjoy the way the author feeds the reader clues and this is the first book I didn’t guess the ending.

The best yet

Murder in the mews - another corker! Excellent plot, writing and narration. Can't get enough of these books. Highly recommended reading!

I've listened to all these stories and really enjoyed them. the personal histories and relationships of the main characters are well done and written so the listener cares about what happens to them. unfortunately they have changed the narrator and I won't be listening to anymore Redmond and Haze

always a good twist

I'm really starting to dislike Daniel's character. In the earlier books he was a wholesome family man, whereas he is now starting to be less open and overly critical, especially of poor Sarah. He seems to have moved from someone who appreciated less traditional women to someone who wants a meek and somewhat submissive women and he seems much less accepting of different people then he did in earlier books. Jason also seems to have started to come over as 'superior' in his attitude and rather then continuing to push convention as an American thrown into British nobility, he is increasingly a Sherlock holmes-esque character, whereas Daniel seems to have started to become a sidekick

Also, the end of the last book said the murder happened in Sussex, but now it's Surrey, but they kept mentioning Hastings, which is Sussex. The inconsistency suggests poor research.

I'm really starting to dislike Daniel
