The discovery of a young woman’s body drifting down the Thames, her hair adorned with flowers and her legs wrapped in blue silk like a mermaid’s tail, presents Lord Jason Redmond and Inspector Daniel Haze with a puzzling new mystery. Who was she, why was she murdered, and what led the killer to leave her body displayed this way? Was it an act of love, meant to make the victim appear beautiful in death, or was there a more sinister reason?
As Redmond and Haze delve deeper into her life, they learn that the victim harbored shocking secrets and had crossed paths with a feared kingpin of London’s criminal underworld.
Will Redmond and Haze solve the murder before the killer strikes again?

This is the eleventh book in the series and I really want to know why Audible can’t actually get a male voice actor.
The protagonists are both male, presumably in their thirties, the story always develops from either Jason’s or Daniel’s perspective, yet the voice over actor is a gentle old lay.
Come on Audible, you can do better!
The woman reading the previous books was boring and not at all engaging, and now we get an older woman who obviously cannot have the vigor of the protagonists.
These books are currently free with my monthly subscription, but even free I’m probably going to drop this series because listening is a pain, rather than a pleasure.
Interesting story, totally unsuitable narrator
