Heartfelt and Succinct
Loved this as an audio book. it was what I needed to hear and a good reminder for myself.
Such a basic skill to love oneself but we forget. Lost in the hussle and bussle of life. Caught up in endless distractions and escapism. We lose touch with ourselves and what is needed to nurture ourselves.
I liked how he was vulnerable with himself , without being self piteous. Trying to find practical ways to bring himself back. I did find it a little American Californian 60s peace loving hippy in approach at times but did not take that as a bad thing. we all need to be reminded.
I liked how he was open about how he fell and lost his own connection a number of times. had to claw his way back.
Overall a nice little book, especially when going throigh tough times in life and need something more. Especially for those who find themselves alone.

A transformative book..
I initially didn't anticipate the powerful impact Kamal's book would have on and for me. The clue that I needed this book was in my initial resistance to saying, even in my head, that I loved myself...that it would be self indulgent. The reality is very different, this book, the ideas within it, are changing my relationship with myself in surprising and positive ways, every day. Definitely worth reading and practising it's simple practice, I recommend it, even if you feel full of self love. Also an enjoyable listen, thank you.

great addition to meditation
I know include his guidance to my meditation and I find it certainly grounds me. The life lesson section was interesting but not the best part of this audible. Take the guidance, do it, I hope you get something from it
