Story
Over the previous decade, Bella had been so paralysed by her fears that exercise was the very last thing on her mind. So that first run didn’t last very long. But to her surprise, she was back out there the next day. And the day after that. She began to set herself achievable goals - to run 5k in under 30 minutes, to walk to work every day for a week, to attempt 10 push-ups in a row. Before she knew it, her mood was lifting for the first time in years, and she had swapped hiding in her house for fresh air, unknown roads and running tracks.

Gordy LaSure's passionate about film. He eats film, he drinks film, and sometimes he'll even watch a film. But most of all, he loves talking about film, and how they'd be a shit-ton better if only people would pull their asses out of their ears and listen to Gordy LaSure. Why are some films bad and some films terrible? How come just a handful of films (Titanic, Porky's, Dirty Harry) are any good at all? Gordy'll tell you How and Why, and he'll give you a shot of Wherefore on the side. And he doesn't shoot from the hip; he shoots from the gut.

An Iconic Legend is Born

Summary
The best-selling self-published phenomenon addressing our urgent need for self-love in the world today. Now expanded with new listener-oriented lessons and a powerful and transformative personal story of the practice in action.
Kamal Ravikant knows misery well. In 2011, the company Kamal had spent the last 10 years of his life nurturing and growing suddenly and embarrassingly went under. He experienced a profound depression, the kind that made him physically ill and bedridden. The only source of light in this darkest moment was a meditation, a chant that came to him and provided the only source of comfort he could muster: I love myself.
Kamal began his transformational journey by repeating this over and over to himself. I love myself. I love myself. I love myself. Even when he didn’t believe it (especially when he didn’t believe it). This meditation grew in the form of a system of tools for keeping him positive, balanced and moving forward. Kamal’s spiritual healing changed his physical and emotional states, and his entire person shifted for the better.
Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It is the powerful story of Kamal’s radical self-growth journey and his specific practice for listeners. Dynamic, vulnerable and ultimately life-changing, this book holds a universal appeal for anyone who has ever struggled to get out of bed in the morning or smile through profound sadness.

monotonous voice and slow story. Daily pitty party for one at the end of the book. Good that the author overcame his heartbreak but I did not get anything of value at the apart from the title, Love yourself like your life depends on it, because it does. That's ir, this is done, choose another book

Wearing your 'Heart' on your sleeve comes to mind!
I read the first book probably a couple of times. And I enjoyed this Part 2 (that comes after the original version) in this book. Glad Kamal came back to this - good story line - and he also has a very good tone, which always helps when we are listening! The big question - does it work - you will have to put the work in to find out!! But worth it.

Loved this book from the very first moment. It’s full of simple, profound and actionable take aways. I started implementing right away and have noticed a difference Part 2 of the book drags on a little but there’s still loads of gems. The author reads very slowly. I’d suggest listening at 1.5

The book was good but about half of it is about the author's break-up. It was just too much.
