Summary

A twist of fate!

William Cook enjoyed serving the town as a lawman until a tragic accident took everything he loved. Wanting to leave his past behind, he turns to bounty hunting, enjoying the constant distraction - and the money isn’t too bad either. When he suffers a life-threatening injury, he is forced to stay put for longer than he is used to doing. The woman who tends his wounds intrigues him, but he isn’t looking for love after what happened the first time.

Emma Stewart recently lost her husband and has moved back in with her widowed father, the town doctor. While she likes helping him heal the sick, she still longs for a family of her own, so no one is more surprised than she is when she starts to develop feeling for the bounty hunter, who hides his heart of gold behind a rugged exterior.

Can Emma offer William a reason to stay? Can William find a way to heal from his broken past to start a future with Emma? Or will a haunting secret take away all the possibilities of this budding romance?

"A Good Lesson In The Storyline"❣

The author Lorana Hoopes had a good theme to the story with a positive lesson to learn, but I felt she stumbled along the road at times. I still received my HEA that I look for at the end of a romantic novel, it was considered a "Clean Romance" so the passion was tap warm.

The narrator Ted Doolittle was new to me. He handled the variety of character's voices with ease, that's why I gave him 5-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for his performance. I look forward to hearing him again in future novels.

I would recommend, "Lawfully Justified: Christian Romance Historical," to others.

a fun and sweet story by Lorana Hoopes

Lawfully Justified is a fun and sweet story by Lorana Hoopes. I liked getting to know both Emma and William, and how they'd start to open up to the idea of love again, especially after they've both lost their respective spouses. The side characters are great and made for some interesting, fun, and even wise conversations. But what ultimately made me love this book was the message delivered by the pastor. It was convicting and helpful. //

As for the narrator, I think he did a good job with most of the voices, differentiating them, though it was a bit hard for me to tell apart Emma's younger siblings (Jenny and Benjamin). Also, some of the female voices didn't do it for me since they sounded too much like a man trying to do a woman's impression, but I guess that I ended up getting used to it. //

Overall, this is a book and an author I'd definitely recommend and read more of. ~ 4 stars

Bounty hunter meets his match

Fun historical western. The medical practices were more advanced than I expected but well done. Emma has already lost a husband to outlaws she isn’t sure she wants to take a chance on loving another lawman.

love this book

This is book 1 of William and Emma's story. Tells how the meet and how much Emma did not care for his line of work and possibly even him.
I receive books and audio books from the author or publisher for free for me to enjoy. I'm not required to write a positive review or any review but freely give my honest opinion.

Really good book!

I really enjoyed this book! The bounty hunter had issues after his wife was killed and the girl was sad after her husband was killed. While she was nursing him after he was shot they got to know each other a little. The reader was pretty good. I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance and enjoys listening to their books!

Old fashioned western romance

I got several chapters in and just couldn't find myself invested enough to keep listening. It's the style of writing you would find in older novels, it's just not my cup of tea. But it's clean and I'm sure a good story if you enjoy ones like it. And Though this one by Ms. Hoopes wasn't great for me , I am really enjoying her Men of Fire Beach series, more modern and up my alley with suspense, intrigue and romance. So I guess it's just about what you enjoy most. Ms. Hoopes is a good storyteller.
