Marian's voice is exquisite..
Laugh out loud funniness as she takes us through a series of vignettes of hers (and Himself"s} lives drove me to renew my Microsoft account so I could record the peculiarities of the Irish vernacular. The concluding chapter taking place in Ho Chi Minh had massive resonance for me as the birthplace of my daughter in law and who knows perhaps a place I will visit myself one day..

easy book to dip in and out off
If you are a fan of Marian Keyes then you will enjoy this book. This collection of short stories and articles is narrated by Marian herself which makes it seem quite personal. It's a window into her life through which we can glimpse some of the process and situations that have not only led her to becoming a published writer but also how some of her books and characters came into being via her own experiences. It dispels the ideas that the life of a writer is glamorous and easy but like her novels is funny and easy to listen to. The short story aspect of this book makes it an easy book to dip in and out off and I recommend it to any Marian Keyes fan.

Short and Sweet - Made Me Laugh Out Loud
This collection of short stories gives us an insight into Marian Keyes thoughts and experiences around the turn of the millennium. It is on the whole a light-hearted musing, that said, it does touch upon some very serious subjects. Marian's reflections on her personal demons are clearly expressed with the benefit of having successfully navigated her own recovery. As always, her writing is both illuminating and insightful, yet she manages to document events with such self-deprecating humour that you end up laughing. I very much enjoyed this offering, although it was short at just 6:30hrs for an audiobook and its limited timeline failed to give the listener any understanding of her journey from a magazine essayist into an international best-selling author.
