Summary
Hostile in ways that a surface-dweller could never know, the tunnel-mazes of the Underdark challenge all who tread there. Among these souls are Drizzt Do'Urden and his magical cat, Guenhwyvar.
Exiled from his drow homeland, Drizzt must fight for a new home in the boundless labyrinth. Meanwhile, he must watch for signs of pursuit - for the dark elves are not a forgiving race.

Yes, its that good
Full marks for the story on this one. Took over my life for the duration, well tried too and nearly succeeded too!
4 stars for the performance because the pronunciation of stalagmites and stalactites sounded weird to me. No, actually because Drizzt sounded a little too emo a lot of the time in the way he was voiced.
But great book and I'm onto the next one.

One of my faves of the Drizzt series
There is so much tragedy and sorrow in this book, but throughout the trials Drizzts hope is infectious. It is masterfully written and a great insight into the underdark and the horrors within.

A good sequel
Narration 8/10
The narration is pretty solid. The voices do fit the characters, the speed is just right and overall it is well done. However I'd like a bit more "soul" to it, something extra to make it a bit more exciting and reaching to the listener, but overall it's really solid and well done.
Story 7/10
I listened to this straight after the first book in the series and I can say it pretty much continues on the same level, while the first one was marginally better.
This time around we start with a lonely Drizzt, having run away from the Dark Elves society for several years living alone in the Underdark with Guenhwyvar being his only company. However, he won't be left alone and his mother will have him hunted down to gain favor with the Spider Queen.
We get a different view on Drizzt this time around, being hunted down, evaluating his actions and trying to figure out what he is supposed to do. Unfortunately, he is yet once more the only character focused on and developed while still fitting the "good" hero profile.
Overall I'd recommend this to any fantasy fan, even though I'd say it is more suited for younger ages rather than adults. If you just want something to pleasantly spend your time not expecting anything special out of it, go for it.

Great Story!
This second book really picked up on the Story front. Very emotional and involving for the listener/reader.
Also compared to book 1 in my opinion, the narrator did a much better job in translating emotions from the several characters.

A much more enthralling episode
This second instalment has much more action and thrills than the first book. The first book does a good job of filling in Drizz't back story but lacks pace for my taste.
This book has a much faster pace and enthralling action to keep you interested. Some great insight into our protagonist mind and feelings as well as his actions.
A great read and comes highly recommended to all especially those sceptical after the lacklustre first instalment.
