About this listen

She loves me. She loves me not. I’m not good enough. What’s the use. Why does everything happen to me? These are the words of the chronic over-thinker - or more specifically, these are the words of the voices in their head. Who put those voices there? And how do we get rid of them?

They are the collective result of all our anxieties and insecurities. The voices seem to manifest on their own accord, without our input. But no, you aren’t crazy.

You just have a mild case of over-thinking disease.

Like any other affliction, there is a cure!

It will only require a careful examination of your habits. A small price to pay for the pervasive haunting of your mind.

This audiobook teaches how to disregard everything and just live in the moment.

Forget about your phone, about what’s happening in politics, and about what others are saying. All of these things are just noise! End that nagging voice in the back of your head by tuning your awareness outwards. Not towards anything in particular but towards life and stillness.

This is the beginning of how to cultivate mindfulness. It’s single-handedly the best thing you can do to control your racing thoughts. Your brain will thank you for it.

In this audiobook you will find:

  • Unique mental exercises that you can perform anytime, anywhere
  • Learning mindfulness 101, how to meditate and practice the art of quiet reflection
  • Understand why technology is ruining your ability to focus and how to fix it
  • Habits for living a healthy life alongside technology
  • Calming down negative thoughts

I suppose the reading experience would be better if read in paper form. The content is mainly guidelines and advice, so it would make the audio version a little dry, i.e not too much emotion for the narrator to perform. Moreover, the narrator kept making reading mistakes and having to double back, which became annoying after a while. This could easily have been edited out if the production team bothered, but alas no. Some of the advice is good, for instance explaining practical ways to be mindful. But overall not really anything I haven't heard before, mainly the advice is to have a good lifestyle and meditate.
