Another amazing book bt Phil Tucker, sorted this after his other series Immortal Souls, quickly turning into one of my favorite authors.

This is as real as it gets, no girly, moaning bs by the MC, a good oul man's man.

I didn’t know what to expect going into this but I read somewhere that this was diff from other books of this genre and that characters had depth and were interesting. After listening to it I agree. The story wasn’t some trite cliche and while the pillars of the litrpg are there it’s interesting to see how the author melds it together with an apocalyptic scenario hitting nowadays earth all of a sudden. Really good performance too!

Good mix of individual and team progress.
MC not weak. But it’s not about how awesome he is, soloing everything alone, and has an ego of a planet. It doesn’t have endless meaningless stats, just the important ones! A great evolution of the genre!
