Interesting but not my favourite
I listened to this as I was looking for something I would love as much as I loved the Stieg Larsson trilogy. It was a good listen, although I found it jumped around a bit. I had worked out 'whodunnit' fairly early on, but I enjoyed adding to the evidence as the book went on. Not as good as the Larsson trilogy though!

The Snowman
Come the first snow of a winter 'snowmen', or rather, snow-women appear. Harry Hole has to track down
their creator, - the Snowman. A well written story that commanded my full attention to the absolute and gripping end. As ever, Sean Barrett provides a great delivery of the characters especially the laconic troubled detective genius of Harry Hole. A fine indulgent pleasure, ideal for the quiet moments over the festive period, though there are some very dark moments, beloved by the Scandinavian writers. Do listen to the Harry Hole series in order. I was a little disappointed that the book in between the Redeemer and the Snowman, namely the Devil Star, hadn't been released. Though it has NOW!!!!!!!!! I wish Audible took more effort over flagging up the sequence order in series, and give some idea of the publication dates for books that would bridge gaps in series. Audible please take note.

Probably the best Harry Hole story
After listening to a lot of Harry Hole books, I am finally understanding the language and names, so maybe this why I enjoyed this book The story was well told, and Sean Barrett is always a plus as the narrator. I do like Harry, he has so many human failings, he is no James Bond. I wont stop with this one, I will read all the books about him, recommended but do start at No. 1.

Much better than the early Harry Hole books
Felt like several stories in one. Just as each one seemed like being wrapped up, off it would go again in a whole new direction. Well written and entertaining. I'll definitely be downloading the next in the series. Really glad that Sean Barrett dropped Harry's Norwegian accent from the early books.

Marvelous
Really enjoyed this like many other readers on here
Sometimes because I couldnt remember the Norwegian names I got a little confused as to what was happening to whom, and sometimes the plot jumped so quickly to another 'scene' I had to rewind to recapture it, but this didnt take away for me any of the pleasure of this book. I had a sneaking guess about half way through who the killer was but I still found it a riveting end. I kept imaging the actor Ian Glenn in the role as Harry Hole if they made this into a film thats who Id choose to play him! cant wait to read the rest in the series

Fantastic...edge of seat stuff
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it highly. I thought Harry Hole was a great character (he did remind me of Harry Bosh - it doesn't matter) and though I found differenciating some of the similiar sounding (and unfamiliar Nordic) names a bit of a challenge - it was well worth persevering. Throughout, the story held the suspense, developed and deepened the characters and kept me guessing about who the snowman really was... and why. I found the reader's voice compelling - and now I can't wait to listen to the next Jo Nesbo book. Highly recommend it.

..it's a pity ....
...that this story was spoiled, for me, by the narration. The reader spoke so very quickly it was difficult to absorb. I liked his voice and expression but I wish there had been more pauses especially between paragraphs. I had to rewind and rewind and this spoiled by enjoyment.
