A super dark mafia romance. I was initially unsure how this book would develop into the romantic relationship I knew I was craving, but it did it slowly and therefore felt more authentic. This is a story of innocence meeting darkness, sunshine vs grumpy, and ice queen meltage that could defrost Antarctica. Enjoyed this book and can’t wait to start the second part to tie up all the loose ends and threats that are looming!

Well worth the credit, PB ups the ante in the Crime Queen F/F genre !
I prefer the 'Bianchi Duet' marginally but it was those two books that led me to this Duet !
The narration is excellent and this always lifts an audiobook. Hadria and her cohorts are violent and dark yet somehow you root for them. Aurora grows as the book goes on.

This storyline is brilliant!
Mafia dealings are harsh and cruel and brother and sister battle it out for the empire, the power, the king pin slot and a woman called Aurora. This is captivating, I wanted more and more and I can't wait for the next instalment.
Excellent narration bringing together the characters struggles and the HOT romance expertly. 🎶💯

I didn't think this book was essentially going to be stockholm syndrome driven and that's the truth. The chemistry is so forced that it's not sexy... just sad. Stories with captives I just never find sexy cause I can't help but think stockholm syndrome...stockholm syndrome....stockholm syndrome. read half
